Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Scandic Resort when I pulled up? It’s not right in the chaos of downtown Hurghada – actually sits in a quieter pocket where you can still hear the waves without all the street noise from Sheraton Road. The lobby has this understated elegance thing going on, sort of modern but not trying too hard, if that makes sense.

The thing about this place is it really delivers on the five-star promise without being stuffy about it. I mean, the pool area alone… it’s got these different levels that cascade down toward the Red Sea, and honestly, you could spend your entire day just moving from one section to another as the sun shifts. The staff seem to actually remember your name after day two, which is rarer than you’d think at these bigger resorts. What really impressed me was how they handle the breakfast rush – even when it’s packed (and it gets packed around 8:30), there’s always fresh everything and you’re not fighting for a table. The coffee’s actually good too, not that watery hotel stuff.

Now, I’ll be straight with you – a 7.7 rating tells you something. It’s solidly good, not perfect. Some of the rooms could use a refresh, especially the bathrooms, and the WiFi gets sketchy during peak hours when everyone’s uploading their snorkeling photos. But here’s what matters: the location gives you easy access to some of the best diving spots without the insane crowds you get closer to the marina. You can literally walk to decent coral reefs, which is huge if you’re into that. The beach isn’t the widest, but the water entry is perfect – no weird rocks or sudden drop-offs. Plus, if you want to venture out, you’re maybe fifteen minutes from the old town where the real Egyptian street food lives, and the hotel’s taxi arrangement is actually fair-priced. The evening entertainment doesn’t go too late either, so you can sleep with your balcony open and just listen to the sea. It’s one of those places where you settle in by day three and genuinely don’t want to leave.

  An exceptional stay in every sense! The apartment was excellent in terms of cleanliness and organization, featuring a modern design and beautiful decor that made our stay incredibly comfortable.
