Honestly, when I first pulled up to سهل حشيش in the Sahl Hasheesh area, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the Palm Beach complex can look a bit overwhelming from the outside, but once you make your way up to the second floor (apartment 303A, if you’re keeping track), things start to make sense. This 4-star spot sits right in one of Hurghada’s newer developments, and you know what? It’s actually grown on me quite a bit over the years.

The thing about Sahl Hasheesh is that it’s got this sort of… planned community vibe that’s different from the older parts of Hurghada. Some people find it too sanitized, but I actually appreciate how everything feels more organized here – the roads are wider, there’s less of that chaotic traffic you get closer to the old town, and honestly, the beaches are just cleaner. From سهل حشيش, you’re maybe a 10-minute walk to some really decent stretches of Red Sea coastline, and the water clarity is noticeably better than what you’ll find in the busier hotel zones. The 8.4 rating makes sense when you factor in the location – it’s close enough to feel connected to Hurghada’s energy, but far enough out that you can actually hear yourself think at night.

What I really like about this place is how it captures that sweet spot between hotel service and apartment-style freedom. The setup gives you room to spread out (which is clutch if you’re staying more than a few days), but you’re still getting proper housekeeping and front desk support when you need it. The staff here seem to actually know the area well – they can point you toward the better local restaurants that aren’t just tourist traps, and they’re pretty straight with you about things like taxi fares and day trip pricing. I mean, you’ll still want to negotiate, but they won’t send you somewhere that’s going to completely rip you off. The building itself sits in a spot where you catch decent breezes off the water, which honestly matters more than you’d think when those afternoon temperatures start climbing. Check-in is usually pretty smooth, though like everywhere in Egypt, having some patience with the paperwork process doesn’t hurt.
