You know what? شقة علي البحر 2 is one of those places that doesn’t look like much from the street, but once you’re inside apartment B 201, you get it. The name literally means “apartment on the sea” and honestly, they weren’t kidding around with that description. I mean, you’re right there on the water in the Scandic area of Hurghada – which, if you know the city at all, puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the main strip but far enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 3 AM.

The apartment itself has that lived-in feel that’s actually refreshing after staying in so many cookie-cutter hotel rooms. It’s a proper 3-star setup, nothing fancy, but everything works and the air conditioning – well, let’s just say it’s your best friend during those scorching Red Sea afternoons. What really got me was stepping out onto the balcony that first morning with my coffee and realizing I could literally see fishing boats heading out for the day. The locals tend to launch around 5:30 AM, and if you’re an early riser like me, it’s actually pretty magical to watch. The Wi-Fi is decent enough for video calls back home, though it does get a bit spotty during peak evening hours when everyone’s online.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Hurghada without being smack in the middle of tourist central. There’s a little grocery shop about a two-minute walk away where the owner, Ahmed, speaks surprisingly good English and stocks everything from instant coffee to sunscreen at prices that won’t make you wince. The beach access is basically right there – no schlepping your towels and gear for blocks like you’d have to do at some of the downtown places. And here’s something the guidebooks don’t tell you: the water taxi dock is just a short walk south, so you can easily hop over to the offshore reefs without booking through one of those expensive hotel concierges. The whole building is pretty quiet most of the time, though you might hear some family gatherings on weekends – but it’s the good kind of noise, kids playing and families laughing, not party chaos. For what you pay, especially given that 8.2 rating from actual guests, it’s honestly hard to beat. Just bring your own beach towels because the ones provided are, well, let’s call them “compact.”

  リゾート専用のビーチ、プールがある。
  部屋が広くてのんびりできた。
  洗濯機があり、部屋のバルコニーに洗濯を干せるのでとても助かった。(洗剤は持参)
  
  What could be improved: 建物の中に入ってみると、建設中の部屋やスペースが多数ありかなり奇妙な感じだった。3日いたが日中工事しているわけでもない。安いし、自分の部屋とビーチは問題なく使えるのでまあいいかとも思ったが、綺麗なリゾート施設を想像して行くとがっかりすると思うので注意。建物の外観自体は写真通り。
  
  部屋については、トイレの清掃が甘かったのと、シャワーの排水口が詰まっていてなかなか流れなかった。
