You know what struck me first about this place in Joubal? It’s actually tucked away from the main El Gouna hustle, which honestly is exactly what you want after spending your days exploring the Red Sea coast. The apartment sits in this quieter residential pocket where you can hear the wind through the palm trees instead of constant resort chatter – though you’re still close enough to walk to the marina area when you want some action.

The pool situation is genuinely nice, and I mean that in the most un-brochure way possible. It’s not massive, but it’s clean and gets sun most of the day, plus there’s usually deck chairs available (which, if you’ve stayed at busier places in Hurghada, you’ll appreciate). The apartment itself feels more like someone’s actual home than a sterile rental – there’s personality in the tile work and the balcony setup. Speaking of which, mornings on that balcony with coffee are pretty perfect, especially when you catch the light hitting the desert hills behind El Gouna. The bedroom has decent AC, which matters more than you’d think during summer months, and honestly the whole place stays cooler than I expected thanks to the building design.

What I really liked was how the location works for different travel styles. If you’re the type who wants to cook some meals (the kitchen is totally functional), you can grab groceries without it being a whole expedition. But you’re also within easy reach of the restaurants along the lagoons – I’d walk to that little Egyptian place near the bridge for lunch sometimes. The 8.5 rating makes sense once you settle in for a few days; it’s not luxury resort territory, but it delivers on the fundamentals without any unpleasant surprises. Parking was never an issue, the wifi actually worked for video calls back home, and the whole Joubal neighborhood has this laid-back vibe where you see the same faces at the local coffee spots. I mean, three stars doesn’t sound glamorous on paper, but this felt more authentic than some of the flashier places I’ve stayed along this coast – plus your money goes further, which leaves more budget for diving trips or those sunset sailing excursions everyone raves about.

  Location worked well for us, we like to walk so 10 mins to Marina, 15 mins to Downtown & we used a hired scooter to the kite station took 10 mins (could of used the bycycles that were there if we hadnt missed them after scooter hired). Fairley quiet location.
  
  What could be improved: Pool was a little cold for use in January but didnt bother us, a few more glasses (plastic even) would've been good. We didint cook so cant comment on the rest.
