Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Marina Bliss, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place – I mean, El Gouna can be hit or miss with these waterfront properties. But you know what? Sometimes the stars don’t tell the whole story. This little two-bedroom setup completely won me over, and I’m actually kicking myself for not booking longer.
The location is what really gets you – you’re right there in the New Marina area, which is sort of the quieter cousin to El Gouna’s main downtown buzz. You can walk to Abu Tig Marina in about fifteen minutes if you want the restaurant scene, but honestly, I found myself just staying put most evenings. There’s something about watching the boats come and go from the balcony that’s just… well, it’s exactly what you picture when you think “Red Sea getaway.” The view isn’t just marina either – you get these glimpses of the lagoons stretching out toward the desert, especially gorgeous around sunset when everything turns that crazy orange-pink color. Parking was never an issue, which anyone who’s dealt with El Gouna’s narrow streets will appreciate.
What surprised me most was how thoughtfully set up the whole place is. The two bedrooms actually feel separate and private (rare in these converted properties), and the kitchen – look, I’m not usually one to cook on vacation, but having proper counter space and a decent fridge meant I could grab fresh fish from the local market and actually do something with it. The air conditioning works properly in both rooms, thank god, because even in shoulder season the afternoons can get pretty intense. I did notice the hot water takes a minute to kick in during morning showers, but that’s pretty standard for this area. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout, which matters when you’re trying to make other people jealous with your marina sunset photos. What really sealed it for me was the quiet – you get all the benefits of being near the action without the late-night noise from the bars and restaurants. I actually slept with the windows open most nights, just listening to the water lap against the docks. The whole experience felt more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel, if that makes sense – and given that perfect 10 rating from other guests, I’m clearly not the only one who felt that way.
