Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “3BR Penthouse in Mangroovy,” I thought it was some kind of typo. But actually, that’s just how they roll in El Gouna, and once you get there, you realize the quirky name fits this whole manufactured paradise perfectly. This place sits right at the El Gouna entrance, which means you’re technically the first thing people see when they roll into town, but don’t worry – it’s not like you’re stuck at some highway rest stop. You’re literally perched above one of the most ambitious resort developments on the Red Sea coast.

The penthouse thing isn’t just marketing fluff either. You genuinely get this sprawling three-bedroom setup with a private rooftop that honestly feels like your own little kingdom overlooking the lagoons. The pool situation is interesting – it’s shared, but the building is small enough that it rarely feels crowded, especially if you time it right in the mornings before the families wake up. What really got me though was stepping out onto that roof terrace around sunset. I mean, El Gouna was basically built from scratch in the desert, so everything has this slightly surreal quality, but from up there you can see how they’ve woven all these waterways and islands together. It’s like someone decided to build Venice in Egypt, except with better weather and way more kitesurfing.

The beach access is the real winner here – you’re not dealing with the crowds you get at some of the bigger resorts further down the coast. El Gouna has this thing where different areas have different vibes, and being near the entrance means you’re close to the action but not drowning in it. The apartment itself feels properly lived-in rather than sterile hotel clean, which I actually prefer. Sure, the furniture isn’t going to win any design awards, and the WiFi can be a bit temperamental (this is Egypt, after all), but there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try too hard. The kitchen is actually functional if you want to grab supplies from the local market – though honestly, with all the restaurants in El Gouna, you might not cook much. Just know that grocery runs mean heading into the main town area, which is about a 10-minute walk or a quick tuk-tuk ride. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury resort perfect, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. Plus, there’s something to be said for having your own space when you’re traveling with a group or family, especially somewhere as unique as El Gouna where you’ll want to settle in and really explore rather than just passing through.

  Pěkně vybavený trojlůžkový apartmán v lokalitě Mangroovy. Bohužel na bookingu ukazovalo polohu úplně někde jinde v luxusní rezidenci. Terasa na střeše má krásný výhled. Je vidět i moře. Prostorný obývací pokoj s televizí. 2 balkony s výhledem na bazén
  
  What could be improved: Terasa na střeše má krásný výhled, ale je dost zaprášená a v kuchyni nás pravidelně navštevovali mravenci. Nemohli jsme nic nechat venku. Tlak vody ve sprchách byl velmi nízký. Okolo se ještě staví a je z toho zvýšený hluk.
