Look, I’ll be straight with you about Al Dora Resort – it’s not going to blow your mind, but honestly? That’s exactly what made it work for me. When I rolled up to El Helal District (which is sort of on the quieter side of Hurghada, away from all that Sekalla madness), I was expecting your typical three-star all-inclusive situation. And yeah, that’s what you get, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole place. The lobby smells like that particular blend of air conditioning and Red Sea salt that you only get in these older Hurghada properties, and check-in was… well, Egyptian pace, you know? Grab a coffee from the lobby bar while you wait – actually decent stuff.

What really got me was how the staff genuinely seemed to remember guests’ names after a day or two. I mean, the housekeeping guy, Ahmed, would wave every morning when I was heading to breakfast, and the pool bartender started making my usual without me asking by day three. The all-inclusive food is honestly better than I expected – yeah, it’s buffet style and nothing groundbreaking, but they do a solid job with the local dishes, especially at dinner. Pro tip: skip the pizza (it’s… fine) and go for the grilled fish – they actually know what they’re doing there. The pool area gets pretty lively around mid-afternoon, which is either great or annoying depending on your vibe. I found the early morning hours perfect for actual swimming before the music kicked in.

Here’s the thing about staying in El Helal – you’re about a 15-minute walk to the marina area where all the dive shops and decent restaurants are, but it’s quiet enough that you can actually sleep at night. The beach situation is… look, it’s not pristine, but it’s perfectly fine for lounging and the coral viewing is surprisingly good just offshore. I saw some guests complaining about the WiFi, and honestly, they’re not wrong – it’s spotty in the rooms, though the lobby connection worked fine for video calls. The rooms themselves are clean but showing their age a bit (think early 2000s décor), and the AC works great, which is really what matters in July. Would I stay here again? Probably, especially for the price point. It’s got that comfortable, lived-in feeling where you can just relax without feeling like you need to dress up for dinner or worry about spilling something on fancy furniture.

  The stay was more than wonderful. The place is beautiful. The restaurant is excellent. The staff are kind.
  
  What could be improved: The only thing I didn't like is that there isn't more than one card to open the room, so I suggest that the guest be given at least two keys for each room.

  The property has beautiful, colourful buildings and spacious rooms that made our stay very comfortable. We enjoyed the small pool and especially appreciated the easy access to the beach. The food and beverage team were amazing—friendly, attentive, and always smiling. The buffet, while offering limited variety, had some very nice options, and the chefs were absolutely lovely. It's worth noting that this is a soft all-inclusive resort, so no alcoholic drinks are served. The only downside was the reception team, who could benefit from proper training in guest relations. Overall, a pleasant stay in a charming setting.

  Food had wide choices always things I liked, location was far from where I wish to visit daily, not in walking distance to places of interest -except the beach, staff were really helpful

  I had an excellent stay at the Al Dora. It is a really good value price/quality option: my room was clean, the food was good and the whole staff was extremely friendly! It's not in the town centre, but that means it's nice and quiet. But it's close enough (2km?) that a taxi is cheap – <€5 and easy. If you want to go diving, the companies will pick you up from the hotel.
  The hotel also helped with organising a day trip to Luxor – a long day, but worth it.
  For 2 days of my stay, it was too windy for the dive boats to go out, so instead I did 6 hours of beginner's kite surfing at the kite surfing school at the Beau Vista Hotel, 5 minutes' walk away.

  Absolutely fantastic! Beautiful apartments, well set out with lovely views of the pool and sea. Welcoming & more than helpful team of staff, always making sure I had what I needed. it felt safe as a lone traveller. Food is delicious, restaurant always clean and set out in over two weeks I did not have the same meal once – fresh food served with smiles. The Pool is lovely with surrounding loungers- cushions also brought to me & use of a beach opposite is a great bonus. The Al Dora Resort made my stay in Hurghada amazing. It was nice to stay in a place that felt homely, fresh towels & water each day. The management team were fantastic helping me with changing dates & so friendly. I spent my Birthday here alone and the chef made a cake and I was presented it with singing and claps – it was special. Good disabled access with ramps at each stair area – was certainly helpful for me.
  I travel often and would highly recommend Al Dora Resort – I will be returning in a month or so, and again when I come to Hurghada. Have a fitness and massage centre- with divine massages and a singer in the restaurant occasionally also brilliant.

  The hotel is good. the beach is nearby. There are supermarkets and pharmacies. The staff is very polite. The rooms are clean and cleaned every day. The sauna and jacuzzi are free. The pool is large. The massage is not expensive. I'm very pleased!
