Look, I’ll be straight with you about the Ali Baba Palace Resort – it’s one of those places that actually delivers on what it promises, which honestly surprised me a bit given how touristy Hurghada can get. The thing is, it sits about 17 kilometers south of the main Hurghada chaos on the Safaga Road, and that distance makes all the difference. You know what I mean? You’re far enough out that you’re not dealing with the constant honking and street vendors, but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you into town when you want some authentic Egyptian street food or need to hit up the pharmacy.

The first thing that hit me when I walked in was how they’ve managed to nail that Arabian Nights vibe without going completely over the top – I mean, sure, there are plenty of ornate details and rich fabrics everywhere, but it doesn’t feel like you’re trapped in a theme park. The lobby actually smells like jasmine and sandalwood rather than that generic hotel air freshener smell, which was a nice touch. What really won me over though was the pool area – it’s massive, and here’s the thing most people don’t realize: the resort is built in a way that there are these little secluded corners where you can actually find some quiet even during peak season. I spent most afternoons in this one spot near the back where there’s partial shade from these palm trees, and you can hear the Red Sea in the distance but not the pool games happening on the other side.

The rooms are solid – not cutting-edge modern, but they’re spacious and the AC works like a dream (crucial in Egypt, trust me). I actually appreciated that they haven’t over-renovated everything; there’s something authentic about the slightly worn marble floors and the way the bathroom tiles have that hand-laid imperfection. The beach access is where this place really shines though. It’s not the longest stretch of sand, but the water is that incredible Red Sea turquoise, and the snorkeling right off the beach is surprisingly good – saw parrotfish and angelfish without even trying. The resort provides decent snorkel gear too, though I’d bring your own mask if you’re picky about fit. One small thing that bugged me: the Wi-Fi gets spotty in the evenings when everyone’s on their phones, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise. With an 8.6 rating, you’re getting proper four-star comfort without the stuffiness that sometimes comes with higher-end places. It’s the kind of spot where you can lounge by the pool with a book, take a real nap, and wake up feeling like you’re actually on vacation rather than checking items off some tourist bucket list.

  i want to start my writing with thanking Ali Baba team. i have had one of the best times ever. i visited the hotel and i had a big problem during my check in. Mr. Mobdy and Mr. Ahmad Heshamat were super helpful. they managed to make my stay more than amazing by facilitiaing everything for me. the hotel has a wonderful buffet option. everyday is a new food choice. the facility is amazing. they have a wonderful pool and a wonderful beach. the staff is super friendly. again i would like to thank Mr. Ahmad Heshmat and Mr. Mobdy very much for their hospitality and great stay. i would definitly go back. Amazing hotel

  The resort had far exceeded my expectations and delivered beyond 5star in offerings. My family and I had traveled far from Canada and Australia and when we reached Ali Baba resort and staff showcased the true culture, spirit and hospitality of Egypt which changed my view entirely in a positive way. I have worked in 5 star hotels for many years and the team at Reception, restaurant and beach staff was exceptional in their profession! A big thank you to the GM, Ahmed (Front desk) M. Khalil , Mohamed ( restaurant) Alex and Hanna (Beach) as they went over and above to provide every guest a true representation of what Egypt is all about! Thank you!
