Hotel Description
You know what really struck me about the Ali Pasha Hotel? It’s one of those places where the location actually lives up to the hype – and I mean that in the best way possible. Sitting right on Abu Tig Marina in El Gouna, you’re basically in the heart of what feels like Egypt’s answer to a Mediterranean resort town, except with way better weather year-round. The first morning I walked out onto my balcony, I honestly just stood there for a good ten minutes watching the boats bob around in the marina while sipping terrible instant coffee (more on that later). El Gouna itself is this fascinating planned community that somehow manages to feel both artificial and charming at the same time – think pastel-colored buildings and perfectly manicured lagoons, but in a way that actually works.
The hotel itself has that solid four-star vibe without trying too hard to be something it’s not. The rooms are genuinely comfortable – I mean, the AC works properly, which is basically all you need when you’re dealing with Red Sea heat in summer. The staff really seems to get that most guests are here for the marina scene and the diving, so they’re pretty laid-back about things like late check-outs if you’ve been out on a boat all day. Speaking of diving, you’re literally a five-minute walk from some of the best dive shops in the area, and the marina restaurants are close enough that you’ll probably end up eating dinner there most nights anyway. The hotel restaurant is decent (better than that instant coffee situation), but honestly, with places like the Marina Restaurant right there serving fresh seafood with those killer sunset views, why would you stay in? One thing I appreciated – and this might sound small but it matters – is that the hotel entrance is set back just enough from the main marina walkway that you don’t get the late-night party noise, but you’re still close enough to stumble home after a few drinks at one of the waterfront bars.
What really sells this place, though, is how it fits into El Gouna’s whole vibe. You’re not stuck in some isolated resort compound – you can actually walk around, explore the different neighborhoods (definitely check out the Tamr Henna area if you want something quieter), and feel like you’re experiencing a real place rather than just a tourist bubble. The 8.8 rating makes total sense when you consider that this isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in town, it’s just trying to be a really solid base for exploring everything El Gouna has to offer. And honestly? That’s exactly what most people need. Whether you’re here for the diving, the kitesurfing, or just to hang out in one of the more interesting resort towns along the Red Sea, the Ali Pasha gives you a comfortable place to crash without breaking the bank or making you feel like you’re missing out on the local scene.

Aliaa from Egypt – 18 May 2025 (9/10)
The staff was very friendly and helpful, taking care of the guest needs. I would specially like to thank Ms. Sandy at the reception who changed the room to a ground floor room, when she noticed that my mother is a senior citizen without any request from our side (most attentive and focus on details). The food was very good and tasty and the quantity quite filling. The rooms were clean, well-organized and most comfortable.

1) The location is very good, close to the tuktuk station and the market. You can take a tuktuk to go to KBC or Riah easily.
2) The room I stayed was quite big.
3) Staff is helpful, don't forget to ask to print your boarding card on the way back.
4) The room and the bed was clean.
What could be improved: 1) Breakfast may have more options, it's kind of limited and you will feel same every day if you will stay longer.
2) You have to walk for the beach. Beach beds are comfortable.
3) Wifi is weak and has to be improved.
4) There is no place to hang your wetsuit or swimsuits after the beach.
5) Hand soap was very chemical, dried my hands, I had to buy another soap from the market.Ahmed from Saudi Arabia – 12 November 2024 (9/10)
Location, friendly team, very clean room.
