You know what struck me first about Amarina Abu Soma? It’s not just another Red Sea resort trying to cram a thousand guests into cookie-cutter rooms. When you’re driving down that Safaga Road – and honestly, the ride from Hurghada airport takes about 45 minutes, so settle in – you’ll see this place sprawling along the coastline in Soma Bay, and it actually looks like someone put thought into the layout. The aquapark isn’t some afterthought shoved into a corner; it’s properly integrated, which makes sense because let’s face it, that’s probably why half the families are here anyway.

I mean, the 9.1 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen when you’re actually walking around this place. The pools – there are several, thankfully, so you’re not fighting for space – have this natural feel to them, like they belong in the landscape rather than being dropped on top of it. And here’s something that matters more than you’d think: the beach access is genuinely good. Not that narrow strip of sand some resorts try to pass off as beachfront, but actual space where kids can run around without trampling other people’s towels. The water slides are solid too (I watched enough kids go down them to feel confident about this), though they get pretty busy mid-morning when the Cairo families with teenagers show up.

What really sets this apart from other Hurghada-area spots is how they’ve handled the dining situation. Instead of one massive buffet hall that feels like a cafeteria, there’s actually variety in where you can eat – and I don’t mean just different themed corners of the same room. The staff genuinely seem to know what they’re doing, which honestly isn’t always a given at Red Sea resorts, even the five-star ones. Check-in was smooth, none of that standing-around-for-an-hour nonsense, and they were upfront about things like the aquapark hours and when the beach bar gets busy. Speaking of which – if you want the prime pool spots, claim them early. By 10 AM, especially during Egyptian school holidays, you’ll be hunting for chairs like everyone else. But that’s sort of the point, isn’t it? This place actually attracts families who come back, which tells you something about whether they’re doing things right. The location in Soma Bay means you’re not dealing with the chaos of central Hurghada, but you’re not stranded either if you want to venture out for dinner or shopping.

  Very nice room with nice view , food has a lot of variety with Many restaurants . Personals are very helpful and smart one of the most important person is Mr Rahim the joker always around and smile. Really recommend.

  Amazing staff who will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. Would definitely recommend.
  Raheem was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for our trip he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Ahmed who works around the pool bar was amazing, he worked tirelessly to bring everyone around the pool drinks, walking up and down all day to make sure you are comfortable and enjoying the drinks.

  Honestly if we could have put 11 out of 10 we would have. The hotel is beautiful, clean and safe. The room is clean, very large and super well placed. Room service is the best!
  The food is very good, complete and varied. Plenty of choice. But what is remarkable is the
  staff: welcoming, kind, helpful, dedicated and respectful. The beach (a christaline water) is a few meters from the room and there is a place to lie down. The pools are big and the group activities are TOP!!! Thank you to Abdel Rahim who welcomed us and accompanied us during our stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

  What could be improved: The room floor was not clean, and the rainbow slides lacked sufficient water flow. Both my son and I ended up with burn marks on our bodies.

  Everything is exceptional. The place is wonderful, the spirit and attention to the smallest details. The staff are extremely welcoming, and I would like to thank Mr. Abdel Raheem Ali and of course Mr. Ibrahim Mansour, and Ms. Maryam, the hotel receptionist, the cleanliness, the food, the service, the quietness, and the price. There is attention to everything to serve the guest. I will always visit again and it is the first choice
