You know what caught me off guard about Amaros Sahl Hasheesh? The name makes it sound way fancier than it actually is – and I mean that in the best possible way. This isn’t some stuffy resort trying too hard to impress you. It’s more like staying at a friend’s really nice beach house, if your friend happened to have excellent taste and a thing for sea views.

The villa sits right off Sahl Hashish Road, which honestly can get a bit busy during the day with all the resort traffic, but once you’re inside the property, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The pool area is where you’ll probably spend most of your time – it’s not huge, but it’s perfectly positioned so you can float around while still catching glimpses of the Red Sea through the palm trees. I actually found myself getting up early just to have those quiet morning moments by the water before the day heated up. The pool gets decent shade by afternoon too, which is clutch because Hurghada sun doesn’t mess around.

What really works here is the balance between privacy and access. You’re tucked away enough to feel like you’ve escaped the main resort chaos that Sahl Hasheesh is known for, but you can still walk to the beach clubs and restaurants when you want some action. The villa itself has this lived-in comfort that three-star places often miss – the furniture actually looks like someone picked it out rather than ordered it from a hotel catalog, and the kitchen is properly stocked if you want to grab groceries from the little market down the road. The sea view rooms are worth requesting, though honestly, even the garden-facing ones are pretty pleasant with all the bougainvillea.

I was skeptical about the 9.2 rating at first (seems high for a three-star, right?), but after a few days I got it. It’s those little things that add up – the way the staff remembers your name, how the Wi-Fi actually works by the pool, the fact that they keep the common areas genuinely clean without making a big show of it. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that drawn-out welcome drink ceremony that keeps you standing in the heat. One thing to note though – if you’re expecting resort-style entertainment or a packed social scene, this isn’t that place. It’s more for people who want to chill out, maybe do some diving (the Red Sea spots are incredible from here), and actually relax. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after sunset, which was perfect for me but might not be everyone’s speed.

  Everything was great. Property is located in a gated community. Felt super safe all the time. Location was super nice. Many shops and restaurants with 10 mins of driving. 2 mins walk, there is a pier where you can walk down into the sea and snorkel. Host was perfect. Really accommodating in term of check in and check out. We had an amazing time here.

  The Villa was spectacular! Very clean and beautiful. We were a very large group of family and and our Hosts treated us like family.

  de ruimte, de slaapkamers het zwembad en vlak bij de steiger met het mooie koraal en vissen om te snorkelen
  
  What could be improved: de beide douches liepen niet goed door. het muurtje rond de douchebak was lek waardoor het water de badkamer in liep. Dit gaf overlast.
