Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Apartment for kitesurflovers” in my booking confirmations, I thought I’d made some sort of mistake. The name’s a bit clunky, and finding apartment F218 on the 4th floor took me wandering around the building for a good ten minutes (the signage could use some work). But you know what? Once I actually got inside and settled in, I completely understood why this place has such a ridiculously high rating.

The apartment sits right in the heart of Hurghada’s kitesurf scene, and I mean literally – you can hear the morning prep chatter from the beach crews getting their gear ready before dawn. If you’re not into kitesurfing yourself, don’t worry, it’s actually pretty cool to watch from the balcony with your morning coffee. The owner clearly knows their stuff when it comes to water sports; there’s proper gear storage space, and they’ve got all these little touches that show they understand what kitesurfers need. Even the shower pressure is fantastic, which honestly matters more than you’d think after a day of getting pummeled by waves and sand.

What really surprised me was how well-equipped everything was for a 3-star place. The kitchen actually has decent knives (I know, weird thing to notice, but try making dinner with those dull hotel knives), and there’s a proper washing machine – essential when you’re dealing with sandy, salty gear every day. The Wi-Fi works better than half the 5-star places I’ve stayed at, though it does slow down in the evenings when everyone’s uploading their action shots. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after the kitesurf shops close around 7 PM, which I actually loved – you get this authentic slice of local life without the tourist chaos. There’s a little grocery store about two blocks away where the owner, Ahmed, speaks perfect English and stocks all the basics plus some surprisingly good local dates.

The only real downside is that being on the 4th floor without an elevator means you’ll get your cardio in whether you want it or not, especially hauling kitesurf equipment. And the AC unit in the bedroom is one of those older, louder models – it works fine, just don’t expect whisper-quiet nights. But honestly, for the price point and location, these are pretty minor complaints. The place feels more like staying at a kitesurfing buddy’s apartment than a typical hotel, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

  The flat is super new. It was super clean and everything you need for life is here: all kitchen facilities, some food, tea, coffee. I must say about exceptional sea view. We really enjoyed our two balconies.
  
  What could be improved: We like Kitesurf so for us personally it was very important to have kite station just few steps from flat + nice Medusa bar with nice food. The beach is also very nice and well equipped. We really like the place and hope we will come back soon. Thank you, guys for this place. ❤️

  Very nice apartment with access to the main facilities (pool and beach) of the Palma Resort. The apartment is comfortable and clean, and has everything you need. The view from the two balconies ist great. It is ideal for Kitesurfers, because the beach with two kite schools is very close (we recommend staying at Sultans Kite School) and you can easily store and dry your equipment in the apartment. Supermarket is 20 min walking distance and there are a few small shops in the neighbourhood.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment is located within the Palma Resort, which was difficult to find. The staff of the hotel couldn't help us and a better description, how to get there would be helpful. However, in the end we found it and got the keys from the key box in front of the apartment.
  The WLAN did not work. The owner couldn't fix it during our stay, but hopefully its working again for the next guests.

  The apartment is new, totally furnished. Exactly as it appears in the pictures. The beds are very comfortable, bathrooms are large and functional, towels and linen are cozy. Kitchen is full equipped, with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, refri, cutlery, crockery… Two balconies facing the common swimming pool and the sea.
  Great for kiters or beach lovers. There are small shops nearby and a nice restaurant
  
  What could be improved: The external access to the building is dirty and seems to be abandoned. However, the pool and gardens are well maintained

  Prettig ruim appartement vlak bij het kitesurfstrand. Appartement zelf in goede staat, fotos geven goed beeld. Restaurant Medusa ligt direct onder het appartement bij het strand en is een relaxte plek, prima voor ontbijten lunch.
  
  What could be improved: De straatkant van het gebouw en de gangen zijn rommelig en wat vervallen. Strand is goede plek om te kitesurfen, maar water is erg ondiep en met best wat koraal, dus niet geschikt om te zwemmen (doet ook helemaal niemand) en daardoor ook wat lastiger voor beginnende kitesurfers. Voor wat variatie s avonds moet je een taxi nemen.
