Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places along the Red Sea coast, but this spot in Makadi Bay actually surprised me. The whole “apartment with services” thing initially made me think it’d be some half-hearted hybrid situation, but honestly? It’s the best of both worlds – you get the space and privacy of a proper apartment, but with all the perks of being inside the Stella Beach Resort complex.
The location is pretty sweet – you’re right on that stretch of Hurghada-Safaga Road where things start getting less touristy and more… well, Egyptian. I mean, you’re still in resort territory, don’t get me wrong, but there’s something about Makadi Bay that feels more authentic than some of the other spots further north. The apartment itself is spacious (actually spacious, not “European spacious”), and you know what really got me? The kitchen was properly equipped. Like, someone who actually cooks designed it, not just threw in a mini-fridge and called it done. The balcony views depend on which unit you get, but even the partial sea views are worth it when you’re having your morning coffee and watching the fishing boats head out.
What really makes this place work is how they’ve managed the service side of things. You get housekeeping when you want it – not on some rigid hotel schedule – and the front desk staff actually know the area. When I asked about getting to the local souk in Hurghada, they didn’t just point me toward the tourist traps. The pool area can get busy during peak season (avoid February if you hate crowds), but there are always quieter spots if you know where to look. The beach access through the resort is solid, and the snorkeling right off the shore is surprisingly good – I saw more fish in one afternoon than I did on some of those expensive boat trips. One thing to note: parking is easy, but the wifi can be spotty in some of the apartments, especially during evening hours when everyone’s online. It’s not a dealbreaker, but if you’re working remotely, test it when you arrive. The whole setup just feels more relaxed than your typical resort experience – you can grab groceries and make dinner if you want, or hit up the resort restaurants if you don’t. That flexibility is worth a lot when you’re staying more than a few days.

Bel appartement avec sa piscine réservée pour les personnes habitants dans la partie "Garden" du resort. Très propre. Lit confortable. Tout pour se sentir comme chez soi. Hôtes tres reactifs et agreables ! MERCI.
Nous y avons logé quelques jours pour la fin de nos vacances pour chiller et faire du snorkeling : beaucoup de corail après le ponton de la plage.
Plage agréable, 5min de marche pour y accéder.
Vous pouvez manger et aller aux piscines de la partie "Beach" du Stella resort, l'idéal est de prendre le tout compris (1700LE ou 2000LE par jour et personne alcool inclus), c'est la bonne option car il n'y a rien autour du resort pour cuisiner par exemple.
What could be improved: Loin de la vraie vie égyptienne mais idéal pour deconnecter.
Pas en front de mer même si elle est proche (5min de marche).
