So here’s the thing about this villa in El Gouna – it’s actually one of those places that makes you wonder why you’ve been staying in regular hotels all these years. I mean, the name “Astounding 3BDR Villa Tawila Pool Front” sounds a bit over the top, but honestly? They’re not wrong.

First thing that hits you when you arrive is how quiet everything is compared to the main Hurghada strip. El Gouna has this almost artificial perfection to it – it’s basically a planned resort town built from scratch in the desert, but somehow it works. The villa sits right in the Tawila area, which locals will tell you is one of the better spots because you’re close enough to walk to the marina and restaurants, but far enough from the party crowd that you can actually sleep at night. The pool situation is genuinely impressive – not one of those tiny concrete squares you sometimes get, but a proper pool where you can actually swim laps if that’s your thing. What I loved most was having morning coffee on the terrace before anyone else was awake, just watching the light change over the Red Sea in the distance.

The three bedrooms thing is perfect if you’re traveling with family or friends, but even if it’s just two of you, having that extra space feels luxurious. The kitchen is actually functional – I’m talking real appliances, not the mini-fridge situation you get in most hotel rooms. We ended up cooking a few meals with stuff from the local market near Abu Tig Marina, which is maybe a ten-minute walk. You know what surprised me? The air conditioning actually works properly, and considering El Gouna can hit 40°C in summer, that’s not something to take lightly. The whole place feels more like staying at a friend’s house than a rental – there are books on the shelves, decent WiFi (important if you’re trying to post those sunset photos), and the kind of comfortable furniture you can actually relax on.

The location really makes it though. You’re in this weird bubble where everything is pedestrian-friendly and clean – almost suspiciously clean for Egypt, if I’m being honest – but step outside El Gouna and you’re back in the real Red Sea experience. The diving and snorkeling here is incredible, and most of the dive shops will pick you up directly from the villa. I’d say the only downside is that groceries and restaurants are pricier than mainland Hurghada, but that’s the trade-off for staying somewhere that feels this well-maintained. If you’re coming in winter, book early – that’s peak season when Europeans escape their winters, and places like this fill up fast. Summer is actually my favorite time here because it’s quieter, and if you can handle the heat, you’ll have the pools and beaches mostly to yourself.
