Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Balanced & Bright 2 BDR Mangroovy,” I thought someone had a field day with the thesaurus. But after spending time at this place in El Gouna, I get it. The apartment really does nail that sweet spot between feeling fresh and lived-in, you know what I mean?

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know El Gouna at all. Mangroovy Residence sits in this quieter pocket away from the main Marina strip – so you’re not dealing with the late-night party noise that drifts over from the bars near Abu Tig – but you can still walk to everything in about ten minutes. The lagoons here are stunning, honestly. I mean, El Gouna’s whole thing is these interconnected waterways, but from this particular complex you get these really nice views without the premium Marina pricing. The beach access they mention? It’s legit. You don’t have to trek across town or deal with day-pass fees at the fancy resorts. Just grab your stuff and you’re on actual Red Sea coastline in maybe three minutes.

What surprised me most was how the space actually feels bigger than typical vacation rentals. The two bedrooms aren’t cramped afterthoughts – there’s real closet space, and the main bedroom gets this lovely morning light that doesn’t turn into a furnace by noon (good AC helps too). The kitchen’s properly equipped, which matters more than people think when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights. I actually cooked breakfast most mornings because, well, hotel breakfast gets old, and the local market near the Marina has incredible produce. The pool situation is shared but never felt crowded – maybe because a lot of guests spend their days out diving or on boat trips. Early mornings around seven, you’ll basically have it to yourself.

The 8.1 rating makes sense to me. It’s not luxury by any stretch, and you’ll notice some wear around the edges – a few tiles that could use attention, that sort of thing. But the bones are solid, everything works, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup. The management actually responds when you need something, which isn’t always a given in vacation rentals. I had an issue with the wifi (crucial for staying connected) and they sorted it out same day.

Here’s what really sold me on the place: El Gouna can feel pretty artificial sometimes, like this perfectly planned resort town plopped into the desert. But staying at Mangroovy, walking through the residential streets in the evening when the heat breaks and locals are out with their kids – it felt more real somehow. You’re still getting the Red Sea diving, the pristine beaches, the dramatic desert backdrop, but without feeling like you’re trapped in a vacation bubble. Plus, honestly, the value is solid for what you get. Three-star rating aside, the experience punches above its weight, especially if you appreciate having your own space rather than another anonymous hotel room.

  What could be improved: It was realy hard to communicate with the company managing the apartment. Very anoying experience. We got all entrance codes long after arrival, check out was denied too due the communication issues. That could be improved for mutual comfort

  What could be improved: The apartment wasn’t clean. Especially the floor hadn’t seen a mop in a long time. The agency told us they are sending someone to fix it but they never did.

  What could be improved: The service is very bad, no one to talk with, they gave us a phone number for emergencies that doesn't answer. We had a flood in the apartment water was everywhere in the kitchen and no one was picking up the emergency phone number which was provided, we had to infomrn El Gouna management in order to take action and stop the flood in the apartment. When we asked at first for wifi number we were getting wrong access and then phone was switched off so don't believe that there is wifi in the apartment or maybe there is but useless as you will get the password to access it and the password mentioned there is actually wrong. The only good thing is the location. Also we heard there a lot of complaints about this property management company from other guests. Read reviews carefully and I hope the property management will care more about their guests. I only heard from them on the checkout day when they asked me to throw away the rubbish, regardless the fact that cleaning was included in the price, but we threw it away anyway.

  What could be improved: The owner deducted 5000 LE for insurance and my son disassembled something in the living room and he asked for a 2000 LE to fix it, which is ridiculous. Anyways I agreed but he never returned the 3000 LE from my insurance. I've tried to contact them for 4 days and they keep promising to pay it, and nothing yet
