You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels along the Red Sea coast, but Beach Albatros really surprised me – and honestly, that 9.4 rating isn’t just inflated nonsense. The place sits right on that stretch of the Hurghada-Safaga road where you start getting away from the main tourist chaos, which means you’re still close enough to hit up the souks and marina when you want to, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise at night. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is how they’ve actually managed to keep the lobby cool without that aggressive AC blast you get at most places here – there’s this nice cross-breeze thing happening that I couldn’t quite figure out but definitely appreciated after spending the day in 40-degree heat.

The aqua park is legitimately impressive, not just hotel-brochure impressive. I mean, my kids basically lived there for three days straight, and I found myself going down those slides more than I’d care to admit (the yellow one’s faster than it looks, fair warning). What really got me though was how they’ve managed the whole water situation – the pools are actually clean, the water pressure in the slides is consistent, and they’ve got enough lifeguards who seem to actually pay attention. The beach side is where this place really shines, honestly. The sand’s that soft Red Sea sand that doesn’t stick to everything, and they’ve got this little protected cove area that’s perfect for kids or if you’re not the strongest swimmer. The coral’s not as spectacular as what you’ll find if you take a boat trip out to the islands, but there’s definitely enough fish action to keep you entertained with just a mask and snorkel.

Staff-wise, they’ve got this figured out better than most places along this coast. Check-in was actually quick – we rolled up around 2 PM on a Friday in March (which is prime season madness) and were in our room within twenty minutes. The restaurant situation is solid too; breakfast runs until 10:30 which is civilized, and while dinner’s buffet-style, they’ve got a guy making fresh pasta and another doing proper grilled fish that’s not dried out. One thing I’ll mention – if you’re driving down from Cairo, there’s plenty of parking and it’s not the usual Egyptian parking chaos. The rooms are what you’d expect from a good 4-star, nothing revolutionary but clean, decent AC, and the beds are actually comfortable. The balcony views are worth requesting a sea-facing room if you can swing it. Location-wise, you’re about 15 minutes from Hurghada’s main strip if you need to grab anything from the pharmacy or want to hit up that good seafood place near the old harbor, but far enough out that you feel like you’re actually on vacation, not just staying in a hotel that happens to be near water.

  Beach Albatros exceeded our expectations, the staff were friendly and helpful. The resort was clean, especially the waterpark areas. The food was varied and well done. It is definitely a family-centric resort, so had lots of activities for the kids.

  The staff and amenities were exceptional. There were many choices for food throughout the day. The property as a whole was very clean. There were many options for activities and the beach was nice.
  
  What could be improved: I didn’t care for the reserving of chairs at the beach. The first day we arrived at 10.00 & had difficulty finding seating. Many people wake up at 5 or 6 am to reserve a chair with a towel. The second day I also woke up early to get chairs close to the front of the beach. When I returned a young couple with 2 children had taken our chairs claiming handicap status & had obtained a special sticker from reception. They clearly were very healthy & the children exhibited no issues. I thought it was in very poor taste. Of course the staff couldn’t do anything about it by that point. This was the only stain on an otherwise perfect stay.

  Everything was amazing. Especially Mr. Tarek at the front desk. He was very kind and helpful throughout our whole stay. The hotel is huge with a lot of activities. Beach is sandy and amazing. Pools are literally everywhere. Aqua Park was super fun. Food had a lot of variety and always fresh. The most important highlight is the staff. Everyone was so nice, welcoming and came out of their way to help. My parents enjoyed the trip so very much!
  
  What could be improved: The rooms could use some renovating as the mattresses are a bit uncomfortable for a 5-stars hotel. The animation team is a bit boring too.
