Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to this loft in Soma Bay, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the rating system just doesn’t capture what actually matters. The Beachfront Spacious Somabay Loft sits right where you want to be – literally steps from that gorgeous Red Sea coastline that makes Hurghada worth the trip in the first place.
The loft itself is… well, spacious is right there in the name, and they’re not kidding around. I mean, you’ve got room to actually spread out, which is rare when you’re dealing with beachfront properties that usually cram you into shoebox-sized rooms and charge double for the privilege. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room – there’s actual living space, a kitchen area that’s properly equipped (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), and windows that frame the water views without making you crane your neck. The decor is simple but clean, sort of that modern minimalist thing without being cold about it.
What really got me was the location within Soma Bay itself. You’re not stuck way out in the middle of nowhere – I could walk to the main resort areas when I wanted some action, but when the crowds got too much (and they do, especially during European winter months), I could retreat back to this quieter corner. The beach access is the real deal too, not one of those “technically beachfront” situations where you’re hiking down rocky paths with your towel. And honestly, the snorkeling right off the shore here is incredible – you don’t need to book expensive boat trips to see decent coral, though the dive shops along the main Soma Bay strip will certainly try to convince you otherwise. Parking was never an issue, which sounds boring but trust me, it matters when you’re hauling beach gear and groceries around. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no endless paperwork or pushy upgrade pitches, just keys and directions to the good coffee spot down the road.
I will say the place gets a bit echoey when it’s windy (and it gets windy along this stretch), but that’s more quirky than annoying. The real win is being able to fall asleep to actual wave sounds instead of air conditioning units and traffic. For what you’re paying – especially compared to those massive resort complexes that charge resort fees for every little thing – this loft delivers on the promise of a proper Red Sea experience without the corporate hotel nonsense.
