Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place called “Boho Mint” – I mean, that could go either way, right? But walking into this one-bedroom at Mangroovy Residence completely changed my perspective on El Gouna. The whole boho thing actually works here, and I’m saying this as someone who’s usually skeptical of overly themed places.

What really got me was the view situation. You know how hotels always promise “sea view” and then you get there and it’s like, squinting through a palm tree to catch a glimpse of blue? Not here. The balcony faces out over this gorgeous stretch where the Red Sea meets these winding lagoons that El Gouna is famous for, and honestly, the way the light hits the water in the evening is something else. The pool area downstairs has this relaxed vibe where you can actually hear the water lapping – none of that overcrowded resort chaos you get in some parts of Hurghada. I spent way too much time just sitting out there with my morning coffee, watching the kite surfers doing their thing in the distance.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there, if that makes sense. The mint green accents (hence the name, I guess) work surprisingly well with all the natural textures and local artwork scattered around. There’s this massive bed that I may have tested extensively, and the kitchen is properly equipped – not just a mini-fridge and a prayer. I ended up cooking a few meals because the local market in downtown El Gouna has incredible fresh fish, and it felt good to have a real space to spread out. The air conditioning works like a dream too, which, let me tell you, is crucial when you’re dealing with Red Sea heat in summer.

What I didn’t expect was how quiet it gets at night. Mangroovy Residence sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to the marina area to walk to dinner (about ten minutes to Abu Tig Marina if you’re wondering), but far enough from the main hotel strips that you’re not dealing with party noise until 3 AM. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful too – they actually knew the area well enough to give decent restaurant recommendations beyond the obvious tourist spots. One guy told me about this little seafood place near the mosque that I never would have found otherwise.

The 9.1 rating makes total sense when you’re actually staying here. It’s one of those places that delivers on what it promises without trying too hard to be something it’s not. Sure, it’s not beachfront – you’ll need to walk or take the free shuttle to the beach clubs – but the pool situation more than makes up for it, and the lagoon views are honestly more interesting than staring at endless ocean anyway. If you’re the type who wants to experience El Gouna without staying in a massive resort complex, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  The location is perfect, close to the beach with nice pool view.

  Best location and a very quiet place without many tourist. I came for kitesurfing and my favorite kitesurf club is within 5mins walk. The apartment is very cute, sweet and clean.
  
  What could be improved: Very thing is perfect except for the checkin I didn’t receive the code of lockbox and it took me a while to get connected to the company and receive instructions. Turned out that I need to pay deposit first to get code but it was not communicated in anyway. But it’s just a small issue. I will definitely come live with Xuru again

  The apartment is very cozy and clean. We truly appreciate the attention to detail regarding everything. The service is impressive, and they respond almost in mins. The furniture and the kitchen equipment are new and easy to operate. The balconies have pleasant views overlooking the lagoon and the sea. Furthermore, the apartment's location is fascinating – almost 5 mins from the Marina! Thank you for making our stay exceptional.

  What could be improved: I came to check in at 3pm it wasn’t ready !!!
  No one to communicate on the phone only what’s app no call and it takes a bit to answer. I waited one hour to check in later and i had to wait another half for someone to come to give the insurance after they told me several time sorry for the wait only one minute ! Bad communication !
  The 2nd bathroom had a really bad smell and didn’t go away .
  Pillows really uncomfortable too .
