So I ended up at this place in Scarab Club totally by accident – my original booking fell through last minute, and honestly? Best travel mishap ever. The Bright & Lovely apartment sits right inside El Gouna’s entrance area, which means you’re literally the first thing people see when they roll into this planned resort town, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy at all.

The apartment itself is exactly what you’d want after a long day exploring Hurghada’s coast or diving the Red Sea sites. Two proper bedrooms, not those cramped hotel situations where you’re basically sleeping in a closet with a window. The whole place has this airy, almost Mediterranean vibe – lots of white walls and natural light that makes you want to leave the curtains open all day. You know what really got me though? The little details. Someone actually thought about how people live in a space like this. There’s proper counter space in the kitchen (I mean, where else are you going to prep your market finds from downtown El Gouna?), and the living area flows in a way that doesn’t feel forced or hotel-generic.

Location-wise, being in Scarab Club puts you right in the sweet spot. You’re inside El Gouna proper, so you’ve got that whole pedestrian-friendly, golf-cart-everywhere vibe going on, but you’re not stuck in the middle of the Marina crowds. Walk five minutes and you’re at Abu Tig Marina with all the restaurants and that slightly overdone but still charming waterfront scene. Walk the other direction and you hit the quieter residential areas where actual residents hang out – there’s this little coffee spot near the lagoon that hardly any tourists find. The Red Sea is basically your backyard, and if you’re into kitesurfing or just want to float around in impossibly blue water, you’re sorted.

The 9.5 rating honestly makes sense when you stay here. It’s not trying to be some flashy resort experience – it’s just really well done. The kind of place where the wifi actually works, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and you can open windows at night without worrying about noise from the main road. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that lobby-sitting-around-for-an-hour nonsense. I stayed during shoulder season in late spring, and the whole Scarab Club area was lively but not chaotic. I imagine it gets pretty busy during peak winter months when everyone’s escaping European cold, but the apartment’s position keeps you slightly removed from the main tourist flow while still being walkable to everything that matters.

  Owner was very responsive and supportive along the whole stay. Apartment was clean, spacious, and well furnished.
  
  What could be improved: Just the roads to property were under construction, it’s okay in the morning but a bit challenging in the evening. Guess it’s just a matter of time till these roads are surfaced and paved.

  Each and every detail we need was there it is super clean , neat and comfortable and above all the host is super friendly and very flexible whenever we had a request she tries to help we really appreciate her efforts
