Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to BYTK – Casamigos right at El Gouna’s entrance – the location seemed almost too convenient, you know? But here’s the thing: sometimes being right where the action starts is exactly what you want. This little 3-star spot has this relaxed, almost boutique-y vibe that caught me off guard in the best possible way.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually remember guests’ names after like, day two. I mean, you don’t always get that even at fancier places. The rooms aren’t huge or anything, but they’re thoughtfully put together – decent AC (crucial in Hurghada, trust me), and the beds are actually comfortable, not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get stuck with. The bathrooms are clean and modern enough, though the water pressure can be a bit moody in the mornings when everyone’s getting ready. The whole place has this sort of understated charm – not flashy, but everything works and feels genuine.

Being right at El Gouna’s entrance means you’re basically the first stop for everything good about the area, but far enough from the main resort crowds that it stays pretty chill. You can walk to some decent local spots for dinner (there’s this little seafood place about ten minutes away that locals actually go to), and honestly, the taxi situation is super easy from here. I loved that you could grab morning coffee and actually hear normal conversation instead of resort entertainment echoing everywhere. The Red Sea is obviously the main draw – and you’re close enough to hit the good diving spots without the premium resort markup on excursions. What surprised me most was how quiet it gets at night; you’d think being at the entrance would mean constant traffic, but El Gouna just sort of settles into this peaceful rhythm after sunset. The whole experience felt more authentic than I expected – like staying somewhere that happens to be in paradise rather than a place trying too hard to create paradise, if that makes sense.
