You know what really surprised me about Central Cosy Getaway? The name actually undersells it – I mean, sure, it’s cozy, but there’s something genuinely charming about this little spot that caught me off guard. When I first pulled up to Kafr L06 (which, honestly, sounds more like a postal code than an address), I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But El Gouna has this way of hiding gems in plain sight, and this is definitely one of them.

The thing about staying here is that you’re right in the thick of downtown El Gouna without dealing with the chaos you’d get in, say, central Hurghada. I could walk to the marina in maybe five minutes – not that tourist-trap marina everyone talks about, but the actual working one where locals hang out in the evenings. The staff here seem to know everyone in the neighborhood, which is pretty typical for El Gouna actually. It’s one of those places where the guy at reception will casually mention that his cousin runs the best koshary spot two blocks over, or that Thursday afternoons get a bit noisy because of the nearby school (fair warning if you’re planning afternoon naps).

What really gets me is how this place manages to feel both local and comfortable for travelers – it’s not trying to be some fancy resort, but it’s not rough around the edges either. The rooms have that lived-in feel that somehow works, you know? Like staying at a friend’s place rather than a sterile hotel box. I particularly loved the little balcony situation – nothing fancy, but perfect for morning coffee while watching the neighborhood wake up. The cleaning staff actually pay attention to details, which honestly can be hit or miss at this price point in the Red Sea area. And the 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days – it’s not about luxury, it’s about getting the basics really, really right. The shower pressure is solid, the AC works without sounding like a freight train, and the beds are actually comfortable (I mean, I’ve paid twice as much for worse sleep in Cairo). If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic local experience and decent comfort, especially if you want to explore El Gouna properly rather than just hide in a resort, this place delivers in ways that surprised me.

  We have stayed in el gouna many times at different places, but never at Kafr. Location is excellent for downtown for the restaurants, shops cafes ,also for walking to beach. It was very quiet. the apartment was clean well equipped and Sherrie was lovely

  Good value for money and excellent location, at the heart of Gouna downtown. Responsive host and very helpful staff. I forgot my charger in the room and they found me before I boarded my bus and handed it to me. Thank you Nirvana!

  Great and good size apartment with great location. Wonderful hosting who answered questions quickly. Great working WIFI. Next to is also one restaurant La Playa where can swimming also in the lagoon. 15 minutes walk to Zeytouna beach what I love.
