Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Chalet Stella Makadi Beach – the name sounds a bit confused, right? Like they couldn’t decide if they wanted to be Swiss or Egyptian. But you know what, sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you, and this spot absolutely delivered on that front.

The thing about Makadi Bay is that it’s got this perfect sweet spot location about 30 minutes south of Hurghada’s chaos, but you’re still close enough to grab a taxi into town if you need a pharmacy or want to hit the local markets. What really got me was how they’ve managed to keep that intimate chalet feel even though it’s technically part of the larger Stella Resort complex. The beach here is honestly some of the best sand I’ve found along this stretch of the Red Sea – and I mean properly soft, not that coarse stuff you sometimes get. The coral reef starts pretty much right off the beach too, which means you can literally walk into the water with a snorkel and be seeing fish within minutes. No boat trips required.

The rooms themselves have this interesting mix of European alpine touches (hence the chalet thing, I guess) with Egyptian coastal vibes that somehow works way better than it sounds on paper. Air conditioning actually keeps up with the heat – and trust me, I was there in August when it was pushing 40 degrees. What I really appreciated were the little details that show someone’s actually thinking about guest experience: proper blackout curtains for afternoon naps, multiple power outlets that don’t require an engineering degree to access, and a minibar that doesn’t cost more than your flight. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing too – check-in was smooth, housekeeping was consistent, and the restaurant folks remembered my coffee preferences after like two days.

I mean, look, it’s not perfect – the wifi gets a bit spotty during peak evening hours when everyone’s uploading their underwater photos, and if you’re in one of the ground floor rooms, you might get some noise from people walking by to the beach early in the morning. But honestly? That 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you spend a few days here. It’s got that relaxed, unpretentious vibe where you can actually unwind without feeling like you’re being constantly sold something. The pool area never felt overcrowded, even during busy periods, and there’s enough variety in the dining options that you’re not stuck eating the same buffet every night. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic Egyptian coast experience and having actual creature comforts, this place nails it. Just don’t expect Vegas-level entertainment – the appeal here is more about genuinely good hospitality and being able to snorkel world-class reefs without fighting crowds.

  Very helpful staff, incredible! Very nice apartment, with sunny terraces.
  
  What could be improved: Not good food options available at the resort. The only acceptable/good one was the Lebanese. Also beware of all the people coming to you when you relax on the beach to try and sell you massages or juices etc. annoying! Nothing to do with this chalet, this was very good on its own.

  La plage à proximité, le chalet que nous occupions offrait toutes les commodités possibles : lave-vaisselle, machine à laver, grande terrasse, literie confortable, diverses piscines, serviabilité d’Ayman qui nous a accueillis, etc. Nous n’avions pas pris la formule All-Inclusive, nous ne pouvons dès lors évaluer la prestation des repas. Un service irréprochable au sein d’un complexe hôtelier où il fait bon de passer ses vacances en famille ou en couple…
  
  What could be improved: Le complexe hôtelier assez délocalisé du centre ville ne permet d’accéder à celui-ci qu’au moyen de taxi. Situation idéale pour celui qui recherche calme, sécurité, soleil/plage et personnel aux petits soins.

  Недалеко от пирса Макади Бэй.
  На конце пирса есть доступ к коралловому рифу, где есть анемоны, много разных рыб и черепахи. Мы были в феврале, часто было ветрено и для совсем неуверенных пловцов этот участок был не супер комфортным. Для более уверенных – интересные кораллы, простирающиеся очень далеко. В спокойную погоду и эта часть хорошо доступна для всех, так как кораллы соседствуют не с резким обрывом, а с глубиной около 4 м.
  В середине пирса есть доступ в абсолютно безопасную зону для плавания, свободную от кораллов. Там можно просто спокойно поплавать. В феврале температура воды была приемлемой, около 23 градусов, все зависимости от погоды (даже в дни, когда было ветрено и 16 градусов). Каждый день мы там плавали с удовольствием.
  Если оттуда немного выплыть за буйки, то можно увидеть немного кораллов и рыб с малой глубиной. Может быть интересно тем, кто боится глубины в 5м с конца пирса.
  В доме есть всё, что нужно. Если вам чего-то не хватает, то Аймен позаботится, чтобы быстро у вас это появилось. Что-то может захватить для вас из Хургады, за чем-то заехать вместе с вами.
  Каждый день мы ужинали на большой терассе, готовя мясо и рыбо на углях (угли были предоставлены хозяевами). Комаров не было.
  Мясо, как и остальные продукты заказывали в приложении Spinneys с оплатой по карте/наличными при получении. Они доставляют с сегодня на завтра и с сегодняшнего утра на сегодня. Звонят на телефон и можно успеть добежать с пляжа за доставкой. Цены там хорошие. Локальные продукты типа томатов, огурцов, клубники, сыра – почти бесплатные.
  За рыбой заехали с Айменом в Хургаду, где купили у местных по ценам для местных. Речь о паре евро.
  По любым другим мелочам Аймен всегда был рад помочь и убедиться, что с нас не возьмут излишних денег как с туристов.
  В доме очень удобные кровати, чистое белое постельное. Полотенца, в том числе пляжные, предоставляются.
  В душе отличный напор горячей воды.
  На пляже есть дайвинг, кайт сёрф, рыбалка. По ценам можно сторговать.

  Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön geschnitten, hat einen sehr schönen überschatteten Balkon und gut funktionierende Klimaanlagen! Aymen, der Ansprechpartner vor Ort war extrem zuvorkommend und hilfreich! Alles ist sauber, es gibt einen Wasserspender wo man sich immer kaltes Trinkwasser abzapfen kann und eine moderne und gut funktionierende Waschmaschine und Spülmaschine sowie ein Smart Fernseher und schnelles WLAN. Der Strand ist einen kurzen Spaziergang entfernt und am Hauseigenen Riff am Ende des Stegs konnten wir Rochen, Delfine und sogar eine Meeresschildkröte sehen. Es gibt auch mehrere kleine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Umgebung.
  
  What could be improved: Das Chalet befindet sich in einer Allinclusive Residenz, das macht es minimal komplizierter wenn man mal spontan in die umlegenen Städte möchte. Jedoch hat auch das mit Hilfe von Indrive oder Über funktioniert.

  Gut gefallen hat uns die ruhige Lage , die Größe der Räumlichkeiten , die Ausstattung des Chalets , die bequemen Betten kurz und gut , es hat nichts gefehlt .Ein besonderes Lob gehört dem Manager unserer Unterkunft , Ayman . Der diesem Urlaub einen besonderen Anstrich verliehen hat . Vielen Dank mein Freund .

  Privat geführtes Appartment im ersten Stock eines freistehenden Hauses, 300 Meter von der Rezeption des gleichnamigen Hotels. Sehr viel Platz, ideal für 4 Personen, 2 Schlafzimmer, umfangreiche Ausstattung, große Küche. Tolle Betreuung durch den Verwalter, sehr gute telefonische Erreichbarkeit. Die Hotelanlage selbst ist sehr gepflegt und die Gartenanlagen sind sehr grün mit altem Palmenbestand. Holzsteg zum Korallenriff in 5 Minuten fußläufig erreichbar. Mehrgängiges Abendessen als Gast in den Hotelrestaurants für 12,- Euro pro Person, sehr zu empfehlen, aber nur "Taj Mahal" und "Casa Mia", der Manager dieser beiden Restaurants ist unglaublich freundlich! Das Abendessen im Hauptrestaurant des Hotels war hingegen mies.
  
  What could be improved: Unabhängig vom Management der Unterkunft: keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für Lebensmittel auf dem Hotelgelände, Mietwagen hierfür sehr empfehlenswert. Der Verwalter vor Ort ist jedoch mit uns in die Senzo Mall Hurghada (große Lebensmittel-Abteilung, 20 Minuten Fahrt) einkaufen gefahren, vielen Dank dafür! Der Strand der Hotelanlage fällt zweimal am Tag durch Gezeiten trocken, vom Strand aus ist Schwimmen daher kaum möglich. Aber man kann zu Fuß in 10 Minuten Richtung Norden am Strand entlang die zum Schwimmen deutlich besser geeigneten Strandabschnitte der anderen Hotels von Makadi erreichen. Nach Sonneruntergang muss man dabei mit den Security-Mitarbeitern beim Überqueren jedes einzelnen Hotelgrundstückes rumdiskutieren, aber letztendlich lassen sie einen gewähren (freundlich abwimmeln und einfach weitergehen).
