Look, I’ll be honest with you – Charbel Apartments isn’t going to blow you away with luxury, but here’s the thing: it gets everything right where it actually matters. I’ve stayed here twice now, and both times I walked away thinking “yeah, that worked really well for what I needed.” It’s tucked away on Hotel Street in the northern extension area of Hurghada, which honestly took me a minute to find the first time (Egyptian street numbering can be… creative), but once you know where it is, you’ll appreciate that you’re not stuck in the tourist chaos down by the main resort strip.

What I actually love about this place is how it feels more like staying in a neighborhood than a hotel bubble. You’ve got local cafes within walking distance where you can grab proper Egyptian breakfast for like 20 pounds, and the apartment setup means you’re not dealing with that weird hotel room claustrophobia after a week. The kitchenette situation is decent – I mean, you’re not going to be hosting dinner parties, but making coffee in the morning and keeping some fruit and water cold? Totally doable. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me because while the building itself is pretty straightforward (think functional rather than Instagram-worthy), the staff actually seems to care about sorting out any issues quickly. I had a problem with the AC remote my first stay, and honestly, someone was up there fixing it within like 20 minutes.

You know what surprised me most? How quiet it gets at night, especially considering you’re still close enough to reach the marina area in about 15 minutes by taxi. The northern part of Hurghada just has a different vibe – less frantic, more residential. During the day you’ll hear some street sounds, but nothing that kept me awake, and I’m usually pretty sensitive to noise. The apartments themselves are clean and spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase. I actually ended up extending my stay the second time because, well, it just felt comfortable in that unpretentious way that’s hard to find. It’s three stars because it’s three stars – you’re not getting marble bathrooms or a concierge, but you are getting a solid, honest place to sleep that won’t eat your entire travel budget. If you’re the type who spends most of your time out exploring anyway and just wants somewhere reliable to come back to, Charbel Apartments hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  I like the location and friendliness of staff plus the convenience making it accessible to all areas. The price was very good and the staff were quick to respond to all questions.

  The apartment was so spacious and clean. At night it was quiet and beds were comfortable so I had a lovely sleep. The kitchen was equipped with big fridge, stove, kettle, dishes, pots and cutlery. The staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this acommodation to other guests.

  Awesome week in Hurghada. Spent all the nights in Charbel Hotel. Nice location, bigger room than expected, wifi, pool on the roof, everything was good. Really nice to met Tadros at the reception, always smiling, caring, making sure everything is ok for us. Hope to see you again!

  it is located up a hill away from the main busy strip, the apartment was very spacious – we had x3 double beds in 2 rooms

  Good location, near the main street of downtown Hurghada. A good bathroom with hot water, spacious with a balcony with seaside view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: There were no plug-ins near the beds where to recharge the phone, except one very high (your phone cable wouldn't reach any place to put the phone down for charging). They didn't provide a blanket/duvet for the couch where the child slept, and when we asked for one, they gave us a visible dirty one (it was a man cleaning the rooms – he was doing his best, but you could see he didn't have the cleaning standard most women would have had).
