It’s about a five-minute walk from the apartment, which sounds like nothing until you’re carrying beach gear in 35-degree heat, but it’s totally manageable.

El Gouna is sort of this planned resort town that feels different from anywhere else in Egypt — more organized, cleaner, with these Venice-like canals running through it. From Mangroovy Residence, you can walk to the marina area in about fifteen minutes, where you’ll find decent restaurants and a few shops. The free parking on site is actually a big deal here since many places in El Gouna charge for it, and if you’re planning day trips to Luxor or other sites, having your own wheels makes everything easier. I noticed a lot of couples staying here, which makes sense — the whole area has this romantic, quieter energy compared to the party scene in Hurghada.
