You know what? When I first pulled up to Club Paradisio in El Gouna, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect – the name sounds a bit over-the-top, doesn’t it? But here’s the thing about El Gouna that a lot of people don’t realize: this whole town is basically an artificial resort paradise built from scratch in the desert, so embracing the theatrical actually works. The hotel sits right in the thick of things in Kafr El Gouna, which means you’re walking distance from the marina and those winding lagoon channels that make this place feel sort of like Egyptian Venice (if Venice had way better weather and kitesurfing).

The property itself has this laid-back, almost Mediterranean vibe that grows on you. I mean, it’s not trying to be some ultra-luxe palace – it’s more like that comfortable friend’s place where you actually want to hang out by the pool all day. The rooms are solid four-star territory, clean and well-maintained, though honestly the real selling point is stepping outside. The Red Sea here is just ridiculous – I’m talking water so clear you can see your feet even when you’re way out, and the coral reefs are practically at your doorstep. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the area; when I asked about snorkeling spots, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic brochure but told me exactly which part of the reef to hit depending on the wind direction that day.

Here’s what sealed it for me though – El Gouna itself is this weird, wonderful experiment where everything actually works. You’ve got proper restaurants (not just hotel food), little coffee shops tucked into corners you’d never expect, and this whole network of bridges and waterways that somehow doesn’t feel artificial once you’re living in it for a few days. The hotel’s location puts you right in the middle of all that without being stuck in some isolated resort bubble. Sure, it gets busy during European winter months when everyone’s escaping the cold, but even then it never felt chaotic. The 8.5 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not perfect, but it delivers exactly what you want from a Red Sea getaway without any nasty surprises. Plus, and this might sound silly, but there’s something really satisfying about telling people you stayed in a place that looks like it was designed by someone who actually understood that vacation towns should be fun to walk around in.

  Facilities are well located and el Gouna is great location as well outside. If building and furniture are aging a bit the resort is not too big and is very relaxing. Beach is nice and nice walks in the sea are possible at low tide. Food is good and staff is very friendly. Nice kitesurfing spot as well (perfect spit for beginners).

  This is a pleasant hotel, with direct access to the sea and all the expected facilities. It seems to be used mainly by groups of aging Germans making the most of the all inclusive rates. The quality of the food was unexpectedly excellent. Even thoiugh we wre not on an all-includive package, we ate lunch and dinner there a number of times for a reasonable price.
  
  What could be improved: All the facilties were a little tired, but quite adequate. The location is a long way from downtown.

  Our stay at Club Paradisio in El Gouna was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the scale of the hotel – it’s so spacious and offers a fantastic range of amenities that cater to everyone. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or entertainment, this place has it all.
  
  Let me start with the food – it was utterly amazing! The buffet was a true highlight of our trip, with an unbelievable variety of dishes to suit every taste. From traditional Egyptian delicacies to international favorites, every meal was a culinary adventure. The quality was consistently high, and we always looked forward to dining.
  
  The animation team truly made our stay unforgettable. A huge thank you to Bob, Bebo, and Sama and the others in the team for their fantastic energy and entertainment throughout our visit. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time. The New Year’s party was absolutely phenomenal – lively, vibrant, and filled with joy. It’s clear that a lot of effort went into organizing such a memorable event, and we’re so grateful for the unforgettable experience.

  the food was exceptional and when the executive chef Fekry found out I was sick, he sent a special tray with soup, fruit and nuts. He came out and greeted me himself. The kitchen and service staff were excellent. The reception staff were very responsive to anything we needed.
