You know what caught me off guard about Cosy Hurghada Apartments? The name actually fits – it really does feel more like staying at a friend’s well-kept place than some sterile hotel complex. I’ve walked down Sheraton Road dozens of times (it’s basically the main artery that connects the tourist strip to where real life happens in Hurghada), and this building always looked promising from the outside, but I never expected it to punch above its weight quite like this.

The thing is, most 3-star places in Hurghada either try too hard to be fancy or just… don’t try at all. These apartments hit this sweet spot where everything works without being pretentious about it. The owner – I’m pretty sure he lives on-site – actually seems to care about the details that matter. Like, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, which honestly puts it ahead of half the places I’ve stayed along this coast. And the kitchenettes are properly equipped, not just a mini-fridge and a prayer. I mean, you can actually cook a decent meal if you want to skip the tourist restaurants for a night.

Location-wise, you’re maybe a 15-minute walk to the marina area where all the dive shops cluster, but here’s the thing locals know – you’re also close enough to walk to the regular Egyptian cafes and shops that don’t automatically assume you’re made of money. There’s this little fruit vendor who sets up his cart just down the street most mornings, and the bakery around the corner does these amazing feteer pancakes that’ll ruin hotel breakfast for you forever. The beach access is solid too, though you’ll want to head out early if you’re visiting during European holiday season – it gets properly crowded by 10 AM.

What really sold me was the vibe in the evenings. Instead of that aggressive resort entertainment atmosphere, you get the actual sounds of Hurghada – call to prayer mixing with fishing boats coming in, kids playing football in the street, the occasional wedding party celebration echoing from somewhere nearby. It’s real life, which is either exactly what you want or exactly what you don’t, depending on your travel style. The balconies face different directions, so if you’re sensitive to noise, definitely ask about which side when you book. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no lengthy presentations about timeshare opportunities or mandatory restaurant tours.

Honestly, the perfect 10 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re actually getting for the price point. It’s not trying to be the Ritz, but everything works, it’s genuinely clean, and you feel like you’re experiencing a slice of real Egyptian coastal life rather than some sanitized version of it.

  Before arriving the owner got in contact to arrange everything for the stay. The handover from the key was well planned and very fast. The flat has averything what I need for a relaxing stay, even a beach towel was included. So no need to take a big towel there. The owner wants to make you the stay more than comfortable. Sekalla is just a few minutes walk, you have restaurants down in the house, so everything you need is very close.
  
  What could be improved: There is nothing, maybe only a missing TV. But this is not really important, as I am going to Egypt because of the outside, not of the TV 😉 As I was knowing this, I could prepare myself with movies on my tablet.

  Mein Aufenthalt in diesem Apartment war absolut
  außergewöhnlich! Von der Ankunft bis zur Abreise war alles perfekt. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Zimmer waren makellos sauber und sehr komfortabel.
  Ich kann dieses Apartment wärmstens empfehlen und freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch!
