What really sold me on the place was the pool situation. Look, El Gouna can get ridiculously hot – we’re talking about Red Sea heat that hits you like opening an oven door – and having that pool access is basically non-negotiable if you want to survive the afternoon hours. The pool area’s never too crowded, probably because most tourists stick to the main resort strips, which honestly works in your favor. You’ll find yourself there around 2 PM when the sun’s at its worst, and it’s this perfect little escape. The whole Mangroovy area has this laid-back vibe that’s different from the busier parts of Hurghada – it’s like El Gouna’s quieter cousin where you can actually hear yourself think.

Getting around from here is pretty straightforward once you figure out the local transport rhythm. The tuk-tuks know the area well, and you’re close enough to the marina that you can walk there if you’re feeling ambitious (though I’d recommend early morning or evening for that walk). What I really appreciated was how the location gives you options – you can hit up the tourist spots when you want that energy, but then retreat back to this more residential feel when you need to decompress. The neighbors are mostly locals and long-term visitors, so there’s none of that rowdy vacation rental chaos you sometimes get.

One thing worth mentioning – and this might sound weird – but the apartment actually stays cool during the day if you keep the blinds drawn and the AC running efficiently. I’ve stayed in places where the AC fights a losing battle against the Egyptian sun, but this unit’s insulation is surprisingly solid.
