Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Cozy 2BR Seaview loft” in the listing, I was expecting another one of those overhyped vacation rentals where “seaview” means you can glimpse water if you crane your neck out the bathroom window. But this place in Somabay actually delivers on what it promises, and then some.

The thing about Somabay is that it’s not your typical Hurghada chaos – it’s this planned resort community about 45 minutes south of the main city, and honestly, that distance works in your favor. You get the Red Sea without the constant horn honking and street vendors (though I actually miss the vendors sometimes, they’ve got the best fruit). The loft sits right in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to the Breakers diving center and that excellent Lebanese restaurant – you know, the one with the mezze that could feed a small army – but far enough from the main hotel strips that you actually hear waves instead of pool parties at midnight.

What got me about this place was how they nailed the details that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a weekend. The kitchen actually has proper knives (revolutionary concept, I know), and there’s enough counter space to prep a real meal if you hit up the local market in Safaga. The bedrooms are set up so you’re not climbing over each other – learned that lesson the hard way in other two-bedroom places where “second bedroom” means a glorified closet. And that sea view? It’s legit. You wake up to this endless blue that shifts from turquoise to deep navy depending on the light, and if you’re up early enough – which you will be because of the time change – the sunrise is absolutely ridiculous.

The whole Somabay area has this kind of artificial perfection that could feel sterile, but somehow doesn’t. Maybe it’s because the Red Sea is so wildly beautiful that it overwhelms everything else, or maybe it’s just that the place is small enough that you start recognizing the security guards and the guy who maintains the pools. Speaking of which, parking is never an issue here, unlike downtown Hurghada where finding a spot is like solving a puzzle designed by someone who clearly hates cars. The management is responsive too – had a minor issue with the Wi-Fi on day three (because of course), and they sorted it without the usual runaround you get at big hotels.

You know what really sold me though? It’s that 9.3 rating, and after staying here, I get it. It’s not trying to be a luxury resort, it’s just doing everything right without the pretense. The beds are comfortable, the air conditioning works (crucial in summer, trust me), and you can actually relax without feeling like you need to be somewhere else. If you’re planning to dive or snorkel – and honestly, why else would you come to this part of Egypt – you’re perfectly positioned for the best reef access without the crowds you get closer to Hurghada proper.

  It truly exceeded my expectations! cozy atmosphere, stylish decor. The high ceilings and large windows flooded the space with natural light, creating a warm and charming ambiance and it was surprisingly quiet. We enjoyed peaceful nights.

  What could be improved: -Many units around still under construction in the area with builders starting work as early as 7 am; this is manageable if you wake up early and spend most of the day out by the beaches.

  Das Haus liegt schön gelegen in einem Neubaugebiet. Die Anlage wird toll gepflegt. Es gibt zwei schöne Pools direkt in der Nähe, die Kitestation ist in 5 Minuten zu erreichen, genauso wie ein kleines Restaurant.
  Das Haus ist sehr schön und sehr gut ausgestattet. Internet und Wifi haben super funktioniert.
  Zuletzt war die Gastgeberin immer zu erreichen und hat bei allen Fragen unterstützt.

  Il loft è spazioso, arredato molto bene e fornito di tutto il necessario per ospitare 4 persone. Si trova all'interno di un residence con accesso controllato. La zona è super tranquilla, pulita, e permette l'accesso a 2 bellissime piscine. La spiaggia è a 3 minuti a piedi dalla casa con lettini e ombrelloni gratuiti, e la scuola di Kitesurf a 5 minuti. Per muoversi all'interno è consigliabile noleggiare una bicicletta (la casa ne ha una a disposizione) o una golf car, perchè la zona dei ristoranti/atm/market (Soma bay Marina) è a circa 2 km dalla casa. Infine, la proprietaria, Nour, è stata di una gentilezza e disponibilità estrema. Ha risposto ad ogni nostra domanda, e ci ha fornito tutte le indicazioni necessarie e i contatti per noleggiare la golf car e taxi, facendoci risparmiare un bel po'.
