Look, I’ll be straight with you about Diamond Arabia Orange – it’s one of those places that surprised me in the best way possible. When I first pulled up to apartment 209 on El Bahr Street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot, but sometimes you find these hidden gems that just work, you know?

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you think about it. Being right across from El Salam Hospital might sound weird at first, but hear me out – it means you’re in a proper residential area where real people live, not just tourist central. The hospital location also means the street stays well-lit at night and there’s always some activity, which I found reassuring when I was coming back from late dinners in the marina area. Plus, you’re still close enough to walk to the main hotel strip along the coastline, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant noise of tour groups and poolside music until 2 AM. I mean, Hurghada can get pretty intense during peak season, so having that buffer zone is honestly worth its weight in gold.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually care about the details. Check-in was smooth – no standing around for ages while they figured out their system – and they knew the neighborhood well enough to give proper directions, not just “turn left at the big hotel.” The apartment itself had that lived-in feel rather than the sterile hotel room vibe, which I actually preferred. The air conditioning worked properly (crucial in Hurghada’s heat, trust me), and the kitchen setup was functional enough that I could make morning coffee without having to venture out immediately. You know what I appreciated most though? The internet was reliable. Sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places in this price range have spotty wifi that cuts out every time someone uses the microwave.

The 7.5 rating makes total sense once you spend a few days there. It’s not trying to be the Ritz – the furnishings are practical rather than fancy, and you might hear your neighbors occasionally – but it delivers on what matters. The area gets quiet after about 10 PM, parking wasn’t a nightmare like some places closer to the tourist zone, and honestly, being near local shops and cafes gave me a better feel for actual Egyptian life beyond the resort bubble. I grabbed some of the best koshari I’ve ever had from a little place just two blocks away that I never would have found staying in the main hotel district. If you’re the type who likes exploring beyond the typical tourist spots and doesn’t need someone fluffing your pillows twice a day, Diamond Arabia Orange is actually a smart choice. Just don’t expect a concierge service or daily housekeeping – this is more about having a comfortable base while you explore what Hurghada really has to offer.

  Die Nähe zu unserer Tauchbasis und relativ zentral zur Innenstadt und Marina. Die Vermieterin Irina hat immer schnell auf unsere Anfragen reagiert.
  
  What could be improved: leider haben wir uns nicht wohlgefühlt. wir waren zur Ramadan Zeit vor Ort und die Sauberkeit im Innenhof hat sehr zu wünschen übrig gelassen. Der Pool war die ganze Zeit über grün und konnte nicht benutzt werden. Wir haben Irina den Tip gegeben, ihren Housekeeping Service zu wechseln, da die Küche in unseren Augen versifft war. Wir mussten alles vorab richtig gründlich reinigen. Das Bett hat gequietscht- an ein Durchschlafen war leider nicht zu denken. Die Sofas waren auch nicht wirklich mehr bequem. Ebenso gab es jede Nacht auf der Querstraße direkt am Schlafzimmerfenster Hundekämpfe. Und Katzen saßen jeden Tag direkt bei uns vor der Tür und haben um Essen gebettelt. Wir sind uns bewusst, das es nicht mit Hotels vergleichbar ist… aber bis dato haben wir keine Schlechten Erfahrungen mit Wohnungen gemacht.
