Okay, so Diamond Lily Aldau Heights isn’t your typical hotel setup – it’s actually a one-bedroom apartment rental, which honestly makes way more sense if you’re planning to stay in Hurghada for more than a few days. I mean, who wants to eat out every single meal when you’re trying to budget for diving trips and desert excursions, right?

The place sits in the Aldau area, which is sort of the newer part of Hurghada that locals have been developing over the past decade. It’s not right on the main tourist strip (thank god), so you won’t have drunk Europeans stumbling past your window at 3 AM, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – clean, functional, with that slightly institutional feel that a lot of Egyptian vacation rentals have, but the kitchen actually works properly, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. You know what really sold me though? The balcony view. Nothing spectacular, but you can see a slice of the Red Sea between the buildings, and in the evening when the call to prayer echoes across the neighborhood, it’s actually quite peaceful.

What I really appreciated was how the building feels more like where actual people live rather than a tourist bubble. The neighbors were friendly – mostly Egyptian families and a few long-term European expats who’ve figured out that Hurghada’s cost of living is pretty unbeatable. The local grocery store is literally a two-minute walk, and the guy who runs it (Ahmed, I think?) speaks decent English and will absolutely hook you up with the best prices on water and snacks. Getting to the marina district takes about fifteen minutes by taxi, maybe ten if you negotiate with one of the microbus drivers, though honestly I’d stick with ride-sharing apps if you’re not comfortable haggling in Arabic. The apartment building itself is well-maintained – the elevator works consistently, which might sound basic but trust me, it matters when you’re hauling dive gear up to the fifth floor. Check-in was smooth, no drama with keys or deposits, and the owner was actually reachable when I had questions about the WiFi setup. One tiny thing though – the water pressure is a bit weak in the shower, but that’s pretty standard for this part of town, and honestly after a day in the desert or underwater, you’re just grateful for hot water anyway.

  Great location in the heart of Hurgada , Aly and George were great help and very friendly
  Few improvements can make the place wonderful

  1- to show number of building
  2- in the elevator signs to show key information like Roof / ground floor etc
  3- signs to show numbers of flats ( from number 1-10 to the left for example
  4- it’s important to have water boiler in the rooms.
  5- Tap water is not valid for drinking , one bottle of water would be great gesture
  6- bathroom need few hangers for clothes.
  7- cleaning equipments should not be in the flat and better to be with the central house keeping
