Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Dive Hostel Hurghada,” I was expecting another one of those cramped backpacker joints where you pray the Wi-Fi works. But this place on Talateen street? It’s actually got its act together in ways that surprised me. The 9.7 rating isn’t just inflated reviews from people who’ve never stayed anywhere decent – they’ve genuinely figured out what divers and budget travelers actually want.

What really won me over was how the staff just gets it, you know? They’re not trying to upsell you on every little thing, and when you stumble in after a morning dive still half-asleep and salty, they’ll point you toward the outdoor shower area without making you feel like you’re dripping all over their lobby. The location on Talateen street puts you close enough to the marina that you can literally roll out of bed for those early boat pickups, but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the constant honking and diesel fumes from the main strip. I mean, Hurghada can get pretty intense with the traffic noise, especially during high season when every tour bus in Egypt seems to converge on the waterfront.

The rooms themselves are clean – and I’m talking actually clean, not just “good enough for a hostel” clean. The air conditioning works (crucial in Hurghada’s heat), the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you wrestled a camel, and honestly, the bathrooms are better maintained than some hotels I’ve paid twice as much for. What I really appreciated was the communal areas where you can actually hang out without feeling like you’re in someone’s way. There’s this outdoor space where people naturally end up sharing dive stories and comparing underwater photos, and it doesn’t feel forced or artificial – it just happens. You’ll find yourself talking to that German couple who just did the Thistlegorm wreck or the solo traveler who discovered this incredible coral garden that’s not on any of the standard tour routes. The hostel attracts serious divers, not just party tourists, which means the vibe stays pretty chill even when it’s full. Sure, it’s still a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or room service, but they’ve put their energy into the stuff that actually matters when you’re spending your days underwater and your evenings planning the next dive.

  I have to say that my stay here exceeded my expectations!
  Everything was so clean and modern and the host waited for me even at 4:00 in the morning, just to hand me the keys. It was absolutely amazing and I would love to come back here anytime and I recommend it to everyone. The best of the bests!!!!:-)

  Everything seems new and comfy. The neighbourhood is quite and literally everything you might need is close by. Not forget to mention it is close to the stunning beach that you wont get enough of.

  One of the best hotels in Egypt, you will enjoy good hospitality and good reception. The rooms are very clean and the treatment is very good. Upon arrival on the first day at the hotel, I received the room immediately. The swimming pool is very clean and well heated. It is an experience worth enjoying. I cannot forget Mustafa. He was a really helpful host.
