Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of hostels in Hurghada, and honestly? Dive Hostel Hurghada Pool surprised me in the best way possible. When you first roll up on St Talateen street – which, by the way, is perfectly positioned between the marina area and the main tourist strip without being right in the chaos – you might think it looks pretty standard from the outside. But once you’re inside, you get why this place scores an 8.9 rating.

The pool is actually the star here, and I mean that literally. Most hostels in this price range have these tiny splashing pools that are more decorative than functional, but this one’s legit. It’s big enough that you can actually swim laps if you’re into that, or just float around with a beer when the Red Sea gets too salty for your liking. The deck area around it has this laid-back vibe where people naturally end up chatting – you know how some places force the social thing and it feels awkward? This isn’t that. The staff keeps it clean too, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places skimp on pool maintenance. I was there during shoulder season in October, and even then it was the perfect temperature for evening dips after diving all day.

What really sold me though was how they handle the diving crowd – because let’s be real, that’s why most people end up in Hurghada. They’ve got proper gear drying areas that don’t smell like a fish market, and the front desk actually knows the local dive operators beyond just the big commercial ones. The guy working mornings (I think his name was Ahmed?) steered me toward this smaller outfit that does the northern sites, and it ended up being way better than the cattle-boat operations most tourists get stuck with. The rooms themselves are pretty standard hostel fare – clean, AC that works, decent WiFi – but they’ve clearly thought about the little things. Like, there are actual shelves in the bathrooms instead of just hooks, and the beds don’t creak every time you roll over. The neighborhood gets a bit quiet after 10 PM, which is perfect if you’re doing early morning dives but might be boring if you’re looking to party until dawn. For that, you’ll want to head toward Sekalla anyway, which is maybe a 10-minute walk or cheap taxi ride. Honestly, having that buffer zone between you and the main tourist madness is worth it – you can join the chaos when you want to, but you’re not stuck in it.

  It was the best room of my entire Egypt trip. The owner is so helpful & it's a very good location. WiFi router in the room so no worries of internet at all. The swimming pool is wonderful & clean. I used it twice in my 3 nights stay. Super market right opposite of the complex. Bathroom, toilet with full force hot & warm water anytime. All Kitchen facilities in the room l. Tea Kettle, electric cooker, crockery, utensils etc. big clean towels are always there for swimming as well as beach excursion use. Again, the owner of this facility is kind, helpful & a very good man. I highly recommend this place for very comfortable stay in Hurghada.

  Well equipped litte kitchen good aircon big balcony. it's essentially a small unit/flat. Good communication. location maybe is the only thing that let's it down bit of a trek to the marina but cheap uber rides to anywhere. if you're scuba diving you're picked up anyway in the mornings. few shops around and small super market. was perfect for me for a few days scuba diving..mustafa was helpful checking in etc.

  I really liked how friendly and kind the staff were. The room was clean and really comfortable. The location was perfect – all the restaurants, shops and supermarkets are close. Whatever I needed they helped me. I really recomend this accomodation for anyone who wants a nice room, lovely people and great location. As a solo woman travelling i've felt really safe which is a huge thing! I will definetely return.

  da gibt es nicht viel.
  Ich glaube ich bin in dem gleichen Wohnblock untergebracht, wie es hätte eigentlich sein sollen.
  Die Vermietung vor Ort dort war sehr hilfsbereit.
  
  What could be improved: Der eigentliche Vermieter der Wohnung war nicht anzutreffen. Er war telefonisch nicht zu erreichen und ihn kannte dort auch niemand.
