Hotel Description

So here’s the thing about Eagles Paradise Abu Soma Resort – it’s one of those places that actually delivers on what it promises, which honestly surprised me a bit given how many disappointing Red Sea resorts I’ve stayed at over the years. The location on that stretch of Safaga Road heading toward Soma Bay is pretty smart, actually. You’re far enough from Hurghada’s chaos to feel like you’re somewhere special, but close enough that getting there doesn’t require an expedition.

The first thing that hits you when you walk into the lobby is how they’ve managed to capture that Egyptian resort vibe without going overboard with the pharaoh statues and fake hieroglyphics – you know what I mean if you’ve been to some of the tackier places around here. The staff genuinely seem to care, which makes a huge difference when you’re dealing with the inevitable hiccups that come with any Red Sea vacation. I mean, the 7.6 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not perfect – the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, and breakfast gets pretty picked over if you show up after 9 AM – but there’s something authentic about the place that keeps you from caring too much about the small stuff.

What really sold me on this place was the reef access. Look, I’ve dove all over the Red Sea, and while this isn’t Ras Mohammed or anything, the house reef is actually decent for a resort dive. You can walk right in from the beach, which is rare these days – most places make you take a boat out to anything worth seeing. The water stays pretty calm here too, thanks to the way Soma Bay curves around. Perfect for families with kids who want to snorkel without getting knocked around by waves. And honestly, the fact that it’s 4 stars instead of trying to be some luxury 5-star place works in its favor. You get the amenities you actually need without paying for marble bathrooms and butler service you’ll never use. The pool area gets busy around lunch time, but if you grab a spot early morning or late afternoon, it’s actually pretty peaceful. Just don’t expect the poolside service to be lightning fast – this is Egypt, after all, and things move at their own pace. But that’s part of the charm, really. You slow down, you notice the way the light hits the water differently throughout the day, you actually talk to the other guests instead of rushing around trying to maximize your vacation efficiency.

Reviews

  • Linda from United Kingdom – 11 May 2025 (8/10)

The beach here was lovely with soft sand . The food was exceptional and plenty of choice .

What could be improved: Although most of the staff were helpful and friendly there were a few who weren't.

  • Toqa from Egypt – 27 February 2024 (7/10)

It’s small so it was convenient as everything was close to each other.

  • Fareedha from United Kingdom – 29 November 2023 (9/10)

Everything, good like it used to be decade ago

What could be improved: Food was very poor, animation staff were a bit rude

  • Stephane from France – 29 August 2023 (9/10)

Superb and quiet beach for kids, about 1 meter of water on the first 15 meters from the beach, perfect for swimming including the sea turtles as a daily bonus.

What could be improved: Definitely the quality of the cakes and bakery have to be improved. But its not worse than other hotels in egypt

  • Kareem from Egypt – 26 August 2023 (8/10)

Mr Zakarya, the Receiption Manager, was a great welcoming person, he welcomed us and upgraded our residence from all inclusive soft drinks to hard drinks For FREE as a wedding gift, the place is a great Value for money

What could be improved: the Staff and the animation team need to be improved

  • Jana from Slovakia – 26 April 2023 (9/10)

We spent almost three weeks in this hotel and we enjoyed every single day. The stuff was amazing from reception (we changed the room on arrival with no problem, no extra cash in passport how its common in Egypt), waiters (they were very lovely and always smile), chefs (they prepared extra meal for me upon request of my husband and it was delicious), cleaners (they kept our room and all surroundings clean at all times), gardeners (so much greenery around, very pleasing to walk around), animation team (they made interesting program but they were not pushy if you did not want to participate, great), even the beach sellers were very polite and respectful…. and I could go on. The hotel is a bit older but therefore great. Location is very quiet, beach is amazing.

What could be improved: The gym is not good at all but it made us swim a lot.

  • Alanvoyager from Netherlands – 20 April 2024 (9/10)

Good beach, friendly and helpful staff, good food.

What could be improved: Mosquitos in the room and outside.

  • Paula from Czech Republic – 26 November 2023 (8/10)

    – The room was cleaned every day
    – We were given a bottle of water in the room daily
    – Beach/pool towels were provided, free of charge

What could be improved: The internet connection in the room was a bit unreliable (which was actually indicated beforehand).

  • Stephane from France – 1 September 2023 (9/10)

Perfect hotel and beach for family. Very quiet. Not too deep for swimming, and many sea turtles in shallow water. Rooms could be larger but this is not the main point with 30 degrees water and sun shining.
Note that the whole hotel is accessible with a wheel chair

What could be improved: Pastries could definitely be much better, this is the main weakness, but as per my experience its exactly the same wherever you stay in egypt

  • Florentina from Egypt – 31 August 2023 (7/10)

The sea and beach, the view, the facilities and the services and most of the staff

What could be improved: The quality of food and the towels were not clean
