You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in El Gouna, but this villa completely caught me off guard. The moment you pull up to the Cyan area – and honestly, parking here is way easier than in the main Marina district – you realize this isn’t your typical Red Sea resort setup. The villa sits right on one of those gorgeous lagoons that El Gouna is famous for, and I mean *right* on it. You can literally jump from the property into the water, which my kids did approximately seventeen times on the first day.

The pool situation is actually brilliant because you’ve got options. There’s the private villa pool when you want to avoid other guests entirely (and let’s be real, sometimes you just want to float around in peace), but then you’re also steps away from the lagoon when you’re feeling more adventurous. The lagoon water is surprisingly clear – nothing like the murky stuff you sometimes get at resort properties – and it stays pretty calm even when the wind picks up along the coast. What really impressed me was how quiet it gets here once the sun sets. El Gouna can get pretty lively around the Marina and downtown area, but the Cyan neighborhood feels almost residential. You’ll hear the occasional golf cart puttering by (because that’s how everyone gets around here), but otherwise it’s just the sound of water lapping against the shore.

The villa itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel – in the best possible way. The kitchen is actually functional, which is rare for vacation rentals, and there’s enough space that you’re not tripping over each other if you’re traveling with family or a group. I was worried about the 3-star rating initially, but honestly, the 9.4 guest score makes way more sense once you’re there. It’s not fancy in that over-the-top resort way, but everything works, it’s spotlessly clean, and the location is just unbeatable. The property management team (BFG actually runs several places in El Gouna) knows what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, and when we had a minor issue with the WiFi, someone was over within twenty minutes.

Here’s the thing about El Gouna that a lot of people don’t realize until they visit: it’s not just another beach resort town. It’s this weird, wonderful planned community that somehow works, with its own quirky charm and surprisingly good infrastructure. Staying at this villa puts you right in the middle of it all, but tucked away enough that you feel like you’ve discovered some secret spot. The lagoon access alone is worth the stay, but add in the pool, the space, and that surprisingly high rating, and you’ve got yourself a pretty solid base for exploring the Red Sea coast.

  The villa is lovely, the owner is so helpful also the view is so peaceful. Everything was perfect. The only disadvantage was if you try to swim in the lake, be prepared it is muddy and rocky,
