Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to El Gouna G Cribs Apartments, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The name’s a bit quirky, and you know how apartment hotels can be hit or miss. But actually, this place surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away in the Sholan area of El Gouna, which if you’ve never been to this part of Egypt, is basically this planned resort town that feels like someone dropped a piece of the Mediterranean onto the Red Sea coast. The whole vibe is way more relaxed than Hurghada proper – less chaotic, more… I don’t know, intentional?

What got me right away was how the pools are integrated into the whole complex. I mean, we’re talking multiple pools here, not just one sad rectangle in the middle of a courtyard. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious, and honestly, after staying in cramped hotel rooms across half of Egypt, having a proper kitchen and living area felt like luxury. The air conditioning actually works (which, trust me, matters a lot when it’s 40 degrees outside), and the balconies – well, depending on which unit you get, you might catch glimpses of the lagoons that El Gouna is famous for. The staff at check-in were pretty straightforward, no fuss, which I appreciated after dealing with overly enthusiastic hotel lobbies elsewhere.

Here’s the thing about El Gouna though – it’s not for everyone. If you’re looking for that authentic Egyptian street life experience, this isn’t it. It’s more like a bubble, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially if you’re planning to spend your days diving in the Red Sea or just need a solid base without the intensity of a typical Egyptian resort town. The location puts you close enough to the marinas and restaurants without being right in the middle of tourist central. Parking’s not an issue, which might sound trivial until you’ve circled Egyptian resort areas looking for a spot. The 7.7 rating seems about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises. The pools stay pretty busy during peak season (winter months when Europeans escape the cold), but early mornings and late afternoons are perfect for having them mostly to yourself. And honestly? For a 4-star place in El Gouna, the value is solid.

  I liked the responsive staff and the clean studio and facilities. I also loved the pool area and the distance to the Marina is really close by car.

  What could be improved: It is more for the honeymooners as it is so cozy and silent. I believe doing a party with loud noise won’t make the neighbors happy about it. Also the place is far from the marina or downtown with alot of construction around it
