You know what caught me off guard about El Gouna Swan Lake Apartment? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – and I mean, how often does that happen with hotel names, right? This place sits right at the El Gouna entrance, which honestly is perfect because you’re technically in the resort town but you’re not drowning in the main tourist chaos. The apartment overlooks this gorgeous lagoon area that really does look like something a swan would call home, especially in the early morning when the water’s still and reflects everything perfectly.

The thing about El Gouna is that it’s sort of this planned resort community – think Disneyland but for adults who want to pretend they’re in Venice, except it’s the Red Sea and it actually works. Swan Lake Apartment gets this balance right where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special (it’s definitely earned those 5 stars) but you’re not paying Marina area prices. The apartment itself is spacious in a way that makes you realize how cramped most hotel rooms actually are. I’m talking about a proper living area where you can spread out, and the kitchen – well, you probably won’t cook much because the restaurants in El Gouna are too good to miss, but it’s nice knowing you could make coffee at 6 AM without hunting down room service.

What really sold me on the place was how quiet it gets at night. El Gouna can be pretty lively, especially around Abu Tig Marina where all the bars and restaurants are, but Swan Lake sits just far enough away that you get the peace without missing out on anything. It’s maybe a 10-minute walk to the main action, or you can catch one of those little tuk-tuks that buzz around everywhere – honestly, half the fun of El Gouna is riding in those things. The apartment’s got this terrace situation where you can sit with a drink and watch the kitesurfers doing their thing on the lagoon, and during sunset… I mean, I’m not usually the type to get sentimental about sunsets, but this one hits different when you’re looking out over the water with the desert mountains in the background.

The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s one of those places where the small details add up. The air conditioning actually works properly (crucial in Hurghada’s heat), the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the whole place feels clean without that aggressive hotel-cleaning-product smell. Plus, being right at the El Gouna entrance means you’re perfectly positioned whether you want to explore the town’s different islands and neighborhoods, or if you decide to venture out to Hurghada proper or even do a day trip to the desert. The staff seems to actually know the area too, not just the rehearsed tourist recommendations – they’ll tell you which restaurants get too crowded and when, or the best times to hit the beach before it gets packed.

  The property was really neat and clean and the host had prepared the apartment for our arrival in a very welcoming way. There was WiFi and entertainment channels for the kids. The view overlooking the lagoon is amazing and very calming. Well done and definitely will return to this amazing place again.
  
  What could be improved: It’s not what I didn’t like it’s more that I had my parents with me and it’s the second floor and they are too old to be going up the stairs several times a day so we had to make our daily trips worth it so we wouldn’t have to take them out several times, but other than that there wasn’t anything that I can mention that we didn’t like.

  Everything about the apartment was super great, from communication with the host from the very first start to the check out, to the apartment itself and it's cleanness.
  
  I'm a hygiene freak and very picky and to be honest I couldn't be more happy about the hygiene in the apartment, the beds are very comfy and the furniture is new.
  
  The ambience of the apartment, decoration wise is very neat and comfy to the eyes.

  The place has an amazing view, really convenient for a group of friends or family, the rooms are spacious, Mr Bassem is very cooperative and replies quickly, the chaleh was very clean and ready and the kitchen has all the utensils needed. Totally recommend it.
