Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to El Gouna west golf Y12, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place tucked away on the first floor of a building right at El Gouna’s entrance. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots surprise you the most. This little gem sits right at the Y12 junction (locals will know exactly where I mean), and while it might not have the flashy lobby of those big Red Sea resorts, it’s got something better – that authentic Egyptian hospitality that actually feels genuine.

The location is honestly pretty clever when you think about it. You’re literally at the gateway to El Gouna, which means you can walk to the marina area without dealing with the shuttle buses that other hotels make you take. I spent most evenings wandering down to Abu Tig Marina – maybe a 10-minute stroll – watching the yachts come in while sipping tea at one of those waterfront cafés. The golf course is right there too, obviously, and I mean right there. You can hear the early morning golfers teeing off, but it’s not annoying noise, more like… well, sort of peaceful actually. The rooms are clean and comfortable (not fancy, but who cares when you’re spending all day exploring?), and the air conditioning works properly – trust me, in Hurghada’s heat, that’s not always a given. The staff genuinely seemed to remember my name after the first day, which doesn’t happen at those massive resort complexes where you’re just another room number.

What really sold me on this place was how it feels like you’re staying somewhere real rather than in some tourist bubble. The building has that lived-in Egyptian apartment vibe, and you’ll hear families going about their daily routines – kids playing, someone cooking dinner with all those amazing spices wafting through the halls. It’s the kind of place where the guy at reception will actually give you proper directions to the local fish market (it’s behind the mosque, by the way, and absolutely worth finding) instead of just pushing the hotel restaurant. The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you realize what you’re getting – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. Parking was never an issue, the WiFi actually worked in the rooms, and honestly, for the price point, I can’t think of many places in the Red Sea area that give you this much character while keeping you close to both the El Gouna action and easy access back to Hurghada proper. If you’re the type who wants to experience a place rather than just vacation at it, this spot gets it right.

  Peaceful location, apartment compact and cosy and has everything you need for the stay. View from the balcony is super beautiful and I loved The pool area. Nights were cold so I appreciated the hot shower, heating and kettle to boil water for Tea. Bed & blanket were comfortable. I had some changes in my plan but the service was always friendly and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: From booking I had idea that there was some kind of hot tub or pool on The roof, but could not find any. Could not find a sun bed with My room number, but used a free one.

  The view was amazing! The pool is super nice! Easy accessible.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment wasn’t clean at all. The sheets, pillows, floor, toilet, etc. I wish this was taken care of as the apartment is really nice and the owner is so helpful and welcoming.
