But this place in Mangroovy actually surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how El Gouna can feel a bit too polished sometimes? Well, this spot manages to hit that sweet spot between comfortable and lived-in. The apartment itself is spacious – like, actually spacious, not just Egyptian real estate agent spacious – and that extra nanny room is clutch if you’re traveling with kids or just need somewhere to dump all your diving gear (because let’s face it, that’s probably why you’re in Hurghada anyway).

The location is pretty smart too. Being right at the El Gouna entrance means you’re not stuck in the middle of tourist central, but you can still walk to the marina area when you want that resort vibe. I actually preferred being slightly removed from the main action – mornings are quieter, and you don’t get that constant golf cart traffic that can drive you nuts in the heart of El Gouna. The Red Sea breeze hits differently here, and honestly, sitting on the balcony with morning coffee while watching the last fishing boats come in… well, it’s one of those moments that reminds you why you traveled in the first place. The apartment gets great cross-ventilation too, which matters more than you’d think when the afternoon sun gets serious.

What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The kitchen is properly stocked – not just the bare minimum – and there’s enough counter space to actually prep food if you hit up the local market. The Wi-Fi is solid (tested it during a work call, no issues), and the water pressure is consistent, which anyone who’s spent time in Egyptian rentals will appreciate. That 8.8 rating isn’t just people being nice – it reflects genuine attention to the stuff that makes or breaks a stay. The host responds quickly to messages, and check-in was smooth even though we arrived later than planned. I mean, three stars might not sound impressive, but sometimes those mid-range places try harder than the fancy resorts that know you’re stuck with them. Plus, you’re saving money you can spend on actual experiences – better diving trips, that fish dinner at the marina, maybe even a day trip down to Luxor if you’re feeling ambitious.

  Host is very responsive and helpful. The apartment is very close to the supermarket, hairdresser, pharmacy and a couple of coffee shops.
