Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Embellished 2BDR Penthouse Mangroovy” I thought someone had a field day with the thesaurus, but this place actually lives up to its quirky title. It’s tucked away on Kite Center Road in El Gouna, which honestly is one of those spots that feels like Egypt’s best-kept secret if you’re tired of the usual Hurghada tourist chaos.

The penthouse thing isn’t just marketing fluff – you’re actually up high enough to get these sweeping views of the Red Sea that make you understand why people rave about this coastline. What really got me was stepping out onto the terrace in the morning with my coffee and watching the kitesurfers already doing their thing down at the beach. The whole setup feels less like a hotel room and more like borrowing a friend’s vacation home, you know? Two proper bedrooms mean you’re not cramped if you’re traveling with family or splitting costs with friends, and there’s actually space to spread out your dive gear or whatever without living out of a suitcase.

The pool situation is legit – not one of those tiny courtesy pools where you’re basically taking a bath with strangers. You can actually swim laps if that’s your thing, though I spent most of my time just floating around during the late afternoon when the heat starts to mellow out. Beach access is the real winner here though. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from some seriously decent snorkeling spots, and the water stays warm pretty much year-round. I mean, the Red Sea doesn’t mess around when it comes to marine life.

What I appreciated most was how quiet it gets in the evenings – El Gouna has this laid-back vibe that’s completely different from central Hurghada’s party scene. You can actually hear the waves from the terrace, which sounds cheesy but honestly helps you sleep better than any white noise machine. The kitesurfing crowd tends to pack up by late afternoon, so you get this perfect golden hour time when the beach feels almost private. Parking was never an issue either, which might seem like a small thing until you’ve circled around Egyptian resort towns looking for a spot in peak season.

The whole area has this Mediterranean-meets-Middle-Eastern architecture thing going on that photographs incredibly well if you’re into that, but more importantly, it just feels authentic rather than like some corporate resort dropped onto the coastline. You’re close enough to El Gouna’s marina and restaurants that you can easily walk to dinner, but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with constant noise and crowds. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’ve discovered something special without being completely cut off from civilization.

  Die Unterkunft war sehr gepflegt, entspricht genau den Bildern- die Lage ist auch super- direkte Strandlage👍 und das letzte Haus in der Anlage- dadurch einen fantastischen Ausblick aufs Meer hinaus von der Küche aus.
