Look, I’ll be straight with you about the Esplanada Beach Apartment – it’s one of those places that grows on you once you figure out what it’s actually about. When I first pulled up to the Esplanada Residence building, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star spot in this part of Hurghada, but here’s the thing: sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that don’t try too hard to impress you.

The apartment itself sits in this relatively quiet stretch of Hurghada that feels more like where actual people live, you know? It’s not right in the thick of the tourist madness – which, depending on your mood, is either perfect or slightly inconvenient. I mean, you’re not going to stumble out your door and immediately find yourself surrounded by souvenir shops and tour operators (thank god), but you’ll need to walk maybe 10-15 minutes or grab a quick taxi ride to get to the main hotel strip where all the restaurants and beach clubs are buzzing. The Red Sea is close enough that you can actually hear the waves on quiet evenings, which honestly surprised me more than it should have.

What really works about this place is how it feels more like borrowing someone’s actual apartment than staying in a cookie-cutter hotel room. The kitchen is properly equipped – not just some mini-fridge and hot plate situation – so you can actually cook if you want to save some money or if you get tired of restaurant food every night. The balcony catches this nice breeze in the evenings, and I found myself sitting out there with a beer more often than I expected, just watching the neighborhood wind down for the day. The Wi-Fi is decent (I worked from there a few days without wanting to throw my laptop out the window), and the air conditioning actually works, which in Hurghada’s heat is basically non-negotiable. Now, the furnishings are pretty basic – think functional rather than Instagram-worthy – and the building itself shows its age in places, but everything feels clean and well-maintained. The 7.3 rating makes sense to me; it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any major disappointments. If you’re the type who needs a concierge and daily housekeeping and all that, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a genuine local feel, some actual space to spread out, and a base that doesn’t eat up half your travel budget, the Esplanada Beach Apartment does the job really well.

  The location is fantastic: private beach for the compound, near everything & security 24/7. The apartment was much better than the reviews I read. It is not a luxury apartment and the furniture is not new, but overall very convenient. Both airconditions were in good conditions. I would definitely recommend it, if beach is your priority. I already booked it again for another vacation 🙂
  
  What could be improved: The fridge is working well, but the freezer needs to be fixed as it makes too much ice and you cannot open it easily. Some minor maintenance can turn this apartment to a perfect vacation choice.

  The beach was great, quiet and clean. Pool was okay too. The location is perfect as it's in middle of city, walking distance from everything. The apartment is also clean.
  
  What could be improved: The security of the place were too strict, the apartment needed some maintenance for the AC and bathroom. Some of the appliances didn't work properly and the internet wouldn't work.

  Nice and clean, basic apartment with 2 beds and cooking facilities. Large tv with satellite and comfy seating. The area is in a secure complex with security guards etc. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Best feature is the secure private beach and swimming pool, which is for residents only. The owner and the host (Irina), did everything they could to help me with any queries and were fantastic. Thank you.
