You know what struck me first about Fanadir Marina Vista? It’s one of those places where the name actually makes sense – you really do get those marina views, and honestly, they’re pretty spectacular. I mean, El Gouna itself is this weird little piece of Mediterranean fantasy dropped into the Red Sea coast, but this hotel sits right where you can watch the boats bobbing around while you’re having your morning coffee.

The thing about staying here is that you’re getting way more than you’d expect from a 3-star place. I’ve stayed at plenty of higher-rated hotels that felt more generic than this. The staff – and I’m not just saying this – they actually seem to know what they’re doing. Check-in was smooth (which, if you’ve been to Egypt, you know isn’t always a given), and the guy at reception knew exactly which restaurants in the marina were worth walking to versus the tourist traps. Speaking of walking, everything’s actually walkable here, which is rare. You can stroll along the marina promenade in the evening when it gets cooler, or duck into one of those little cafes that serve proper Egyptian tea alongside the international stuff.

The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the AC works properly (crucial in Hurghada), and the beds are decent quality. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night. El Gouna can get pretty lively, but this spot is just far enough from the main party areas that you can actually sleep. The marina view rooms are worth the extra cost if you can swing it, especially if you’re an early riser – watching the sunrise over the water while the fishing boats head out is honestly one of those simple travel moments that sticks with you. The wifi is reliable too, which matters if you need to stay connected or upload those inevitable sunset photos. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but for the price point and location, it delivers exactly what it promises. If you’re looking for a solid base to explore El Gouna’s lagoons or take day trips to Hurghada proper, this place gets the job done without breaking the bank.
