Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Fanadir Resort – I mean, it’s a 3-star place tucked away in Fanadir Bay, and let’s be real, Hurghada has its fair share of cookie-cutter resort hotels. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The whole “Liver Bird” thing in the name threw me off at first (apparently there’s some Liverpool connection?), but once you get past the quirky branding, you’ll find a genuinely solid spot that punches way above its weight class.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between authentic Egyptian hospitality and the comfort level most travelers are looking for. The staff here – and I’m talking about everyone from the front desk to the guys maintaining the pool area – they actually seem to care about what they’re doing. Check-in was smooth, none of that bureaucratic nonsense you sometimes get at bigger chains, and they were super helpful about explaining the best times to hit the beach (early morning before 9 AM if you want it relatively quiet, by the way). The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re clean and functional, with decent AC that actually works – trust me, in Hurghada’s heat, that’s not always a given. I particularly liked that they’ve kept some traditional touches in the decor without going overboard with the “authentic Egyptian experience” theme that can feel so forced at other places.
The location in Fanadir Bay is actually pretty smart – you’re far enough from the main Hurghada strip to avoid the constant tour bus traffic and street vendors, but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you to the markets and restaurants if you want to explore. The beach access is decent, though I’d recommend bringing water shoes because the coral can be sharp (but honestly, that’s true for most of the Red Sea coast). What really impressed me was the little things – like how they time the housekeeping so you’re not constantly bumping into cleaning carts in the hallways, and the way they’ve set up the dining area so it doesn’t feel like a cafeteria even when it’s busy. The food was surprisingly good too, especially the local fish dishes – clearly someone in that kitchen knows what they’re doing. For a 3-star place, getting a 9 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. If you’re looking for over-the-top luxury, this isn’t your spot, but if you want a comfortable, well-run place where you can actually relax without breaking the bank, Fanadir Resort gets it right.

What could be improved: 1- The whole place is Newly open so there are still some minor work need to be done on hallways and corridors but still does not affect your stay.
2- The aqua slides need supervision since guests can hit each other by not waiting for previous guests to clear the way under the slides.Beria from Turkey – 29 April 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: The lights in the corridors were not on. There were no handles on the doors of the room, the door remained open. The room did not have the most important hygiene items such as toilet paper and soap.
