Flow Spectrum Resort Sahl Hasheesh Overview

Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places along the Red Sea coast, but Flow Spectrum Resort in Sahl Hasheesh actually surprised me – and honestly, that doesn’t happen often anymore. The thing about this stretch of coast is that it’s about 20 minutes south of Hurghada’s main chaos, which means you get the best of both worlds. You’re close enough to hit the bustling souks and marina if you want that energy, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant honking and tourist crowds right outside your window. The resort sits on this gorgeous bay where the water is… well, it’s that impossible turquoise color that makes your Instagram followers think you’re using filters (you’re not).

What really got me was how they’ve managed to feel upscale without being stuffy – you know what I mean? The lobby has this flowing design that actually lives up to the “Flow” name, with these curved lines and water features that don’t feel gimmicky. Check-in was smooth, which I always appreciate after those long flights into Hurghada. The rooms are spacious and modern, though I will say the balcony views vary quite a bit depending on where they put you – definitely worth asking about when you book. The pools are actually warm enough to enjoy in the evening, something I learned the hard way at other places where they’re freezing after sunset. And the beach… honestly, this is where Sahl Hasheesh really shines. The sand is soft, the reef is accessible right from shore (bring your snorkel gear), and there’s enough space that you’re not playing towel Tetris with other guests.

Here’s the thing though – and this is coming from someone who’s picky about food – the dining here is legitimately good. Not just “good for a resort,” but actually good. The seafood is obviously fresh since you’re right on the Red Sea, but they do a solid job with international dishes too. The staff seems to genuinely care, which you can tell makes a difference in everything from housekeeping to the beach service. I mean, there are always minor things (the WiFi can be spotty in some areas, and like most places in Egypt, hot water takes a minute to kick in), but nothing that ruins the experience. The resort attracts a nice mix of Europeans and locals, so it has this authentic feel without being overwhelming for international visitors. If you’re planning to visit, shoulder seasons are perfect – less crowded but still warm enough for everything. You’ll want to rent a car or arrange transfers if you plan to explore beyond the resort, but honestly, with that beach and the coral reef right there, you might not want to leave anyway.

Reviews of Flow Spectrum Resort Sahl Hasheesh

  • Nader from Egypt – 19 June 2025 (9/10)

I would like to clarify that no one asked me to write this review, mention their name, or thank them — but I want want to highlight some staff members who truly deserve recognition.

    Breakfast & Restaurants

The breakfast is good but could be better and improvement. However, overall, there is excellent variety in the main restaurant and à la carte options. Special thanks to Executive Chef Mohamed Desouky, Chef Mahmoud from the grill section, and restaurant staff Assem, Fares, and Sayed for their outstanding efforts.

    Housekeeping

The room cleanliness and housekeeping service were excellent. I’d like to thank Alaa, the Housekeeping Manager, and Ahmed, responsible for the rooms in the 2240 area, for their dedicated work.

    Beach

The beach is rocky, and swimming access is available through the Pyramisa beach area. However, the beach itself is beautiful and elegant. Special thanks to Mr. Mohamed, the shuttle bus driver, the beach supporter and life guard at Flow, and the bar Man for their efforts.

    Guest Relations

A heartfelt thank you to Rawan from Guest Relations for her exceptional attention to every small and big detail during our stay. She truly did everything she could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible — she was incredible.

    Lobby Bar

I’d also like to extend my sincere thanks to Fares, the Lobby Bar staff member, for going above and beyond to satisfy us and showing genuine care for all the guests. Always smiling and very respectful.

Thank you, Flow Spectrum management, for changing our perception. While we didn’t initially think this resort would be our top choice, you’ve proven yourselves to be the best overall.

What could be improved: The only noticeable issue, which I’ve also seen in previous reviews and personally experienced during my stay, is that it’s very difficult to maintain the same quality of service during high seasons and public holidays. This is due to the relatively small size of the resort team, and the clear shortage in staff numbers. Some employees work over 14 hours without rest, which makes it hard to blame them if mistakes happen, such as bringing the wrong order.

  • Paula from Egypt – 19 June 2025 (8/10)

I’ll admit, I was hesitant about staying at Flow Spectrum Resort after reading a few negative reviews just before my trip. Most of those concerns seemed to be related to times when the hotel was fully booked, which made me a bit cautious. Thankfully, my stay turned out to be a really pleasant surprise.

The food overall was excellent—the variety in the main restaurant was impressive, and the taste consistently good. The à la carte restaurants served high-quality dishes, and I especially liked the salad bar at the Latin restaurant. The lunch buffet was one of the best I’ve had at any hotel, and the pizza at the beach snack bar was a real treat. The alcoholic beverages and drinks in general were also surprisingly good, with a decent variety and quality that added to the overall experience.

The facilities were another highlight—especially the many à la carte restaurants, each offering a variety of cuisines. I particularly loved the Mexican and Asian options, and the ability to choose between indoor and outdoor seating added a nice touch. The pools were also nice and clean, providing a refreshing and relaxing experience throughout the day. The ice cream shop was a fun bonus, perfect for cooling off under the sun—and it was especially great that it was open from 10 AM to 10 PM, making it super convenient anytime you wanted a sweet treat.

Special thanks to Rawan from the guest relations team, who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Her attention to detail and helpful attitude truly stood out and made a difference. Also, a big thanks to Fares at the lobby bar, along with Mustafa and a friendly young woman at the same bar whose name I didn’t catch. I’d also like to mention Executive Chef Mohamed at the main restaurant, Chef Mahmoud at the grill, waiters Sayed and Asim, and Mohamed, the shuttle bus driver.

The housekeeping team was also lovely and kept everything tidy and comfortable.

The night shows were enjoyable and added a great evening atmosphere.

What could be improved: As for downsides, the main one was the staff shortage. It didn’t affect me much since the hotel wasn’t fully booked, but it’s something to consider if you’re visiting during high season. The staff were clearly doing their best, but they were stretched thin—so don’t expect someone to always check in or ask what you’d like to drink. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it’s worth noting.

Another area that could use improvement is the animation team. While the night shows were fun, the daytime entertainment and activities felt a bit lacking and could be more engaging and energetic.

The breakfast buffet could also be better, but this didn’t bother us much, as both lunch and dinner were excellent.

That said, these minor issues didn’t take away from the overall positive experience. I’d absolutely recommend Flow Spectrum Resort—especially during off-peak times, unless staffing improves. My overall rating is a solid 5/5, and I’d definitely consider coming back during the same time of year.
