Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Fort Arabesque Resort – it’s about a 30-minute drive south from Hurghada’s main strip along that coastal road toward Safaga, and you know how some of these places can feel pretty isolated. But there’s something genuinely special about this spot in Makadi Bay that hit me right away. The architecture actually lives up to the “arabesque” name with these gorgeous arched doorways and intricate tile work that doesn’t feel forced or theme-park-ish. You can tell they put real thought into the design instead of just slapping some generic “exotic” decorations on a standard resort block.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to create different vibes within the same property – and I mean this in the best way possible. The main resort area has that lively energy you want when you’re looking to socialize by the pool or grab a drink, but then you’ve got these villa sections that feel completely separate and peaceful. I spent most mornings walking around before the heat kicked in (trust me, do this before 9 AM), and you’ll discover these little courtyards and garden spots that most guests never even notice. The spa area, which sits sort of tucked away from everything else, has this incredible view over the bay – honestly, even if you don’t book a treatment, it’s worth wandering over there just to see the water from that angle. The snorkeling right off their beach is actually decent too, though you’ll want to bring your own gear since the rental stuff is pretty basic.
Here’s what I really appreciated – the staff seems to genuinely know the area and can point you toward spots that aren’t just tourist traps. One of the front desk guys told me about this local seafood place about ten minutes up the road that turned out to be one of my best meals in Egypt. The resort food is solid (breakfast has everything you’d want, dinner buffets are hit or miss depending on the night), but having those local recommendations made a huge difference. The only thing that might bug some people is that it can get pretty quiet in the evenings – this isn’t one of those places with constant entertainment or a buzzing nightlife scene. But honestly? After a day in the Egyptian sun, that peaceful vibe was exactly what I needed. The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the Red Sea, it delivers on what it promises and then some.

We stayed in a villa and received an excellent service. You do not get the same when staying in the other parts of the hotel.
The pavillon restaurant was great, in particular the breakfast.
Very helpful and nice staff, even if they don’t always understand English they’re trying their best.
Free haircut for male was also appreciated.
What could be improved: There could be healthier food options for lunch (salads, vegetables, fruits).
Juices and soft drinks were very sugary.
The reservation system at the beach is odd. The sunbed 2 lines in front of ours was booked for a villa but we didn’t see anybody for the whole week.
Also lots of people who are smoking heavily.Henry from United Kingdom – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
Our second stay at the Fort and with good luck and good health certainly won’t be our last
Beautiful surroundings, helpful friendly and attentive staff fantastic food
The snorkelling is wonderful and at the moment the reefs seem untouched by the bleaching being experienced elsewhere
Not entirely sure that I’m a fan of the beach bed reservation system whereby I witnessed front row bed being unused for the entire day but I guess if this is important to you you have to pay for your own @ €11 per umbrella per day
That aside this is a beautiful hotel where you are waited on hand and foot

I am not a huge fan of all-inclusive resorts, but this one was exceptionally nice!
Good and plenty buffet food, friendly staff (especially with our kid) and overall beautiful and comfortable resort. Despite it was fully booked it didn’t feel too busy.
Snorkelling right from the beach with wonderful coral and fish was superb. Could easily have stayed a week longer.

Clean, nice rooms, great reef, good food, bottled drinks in the resort and in the minibar in the room. After 4 nights we moved to a 5 star hotel nearby for aquapark for our kids. For almost the same price it was much much better our stay at Fort Arabesque, it is by far my favourite place in Hurghada. And the gardens are the most beautiful, well kept and great to have a walk in the evening.

I would whole heartedly recommend this all inclusive retreat to anyone going to Hugrada. The place was clean, vast, the food was delicious, staff were always welcoming and we never felt there was anything missing from our trip. Never thought that we could have done with more. Special shout out to the Indian chef in West Bay. He's excellent at his craft and very considerate towards his guests, definitely such an asset to the place. That said, I think I just wanted to thank all the staff for taking such good care of us. Finally the beach linked to the hotel is excellent with some great snorkeling spots
What could be improved: Nothing that I could complain aboutAmr from United Kingdom – 23 April 2025 (9/10)
We went as two families with grandma. The service was very good. The beachfront was extensive. You're able to pre book your spot on the beach (for a fee) which is very convenient. The snorkeling was very nice.
What could be improved: Some of the international dishes at the buffet were slightly hit and miss. But overall very good for the price.
