Look, I’ll be straight with you about G Cribs – it’s one of those places that catches you off guard in El Gouna. When you first pull up on Club Road (and honestly, finding parking here is way easier than in the main marina area), the building doesn’t scream luxury resort. It’s more like… well, a really nice apartment complex that someone decided to turn into a hotel. Which, honestly, is exactly what it is, and that’s actually the best part about it.

The whole apartment-hotel thing works surprisingly well here. You get a proper kitchen – I mean, a real one with a full-size fridge and decent counter space – which is clutch when you’re staying in El Gouna for more than a few days because eating out every meal gets expensive fast. The living areas are genuinely spacious, not that cramped hotel room feeling you get at most places. My unit had this massive balcony that looked out toward the lagoons, and you know what? In the early morning, before the kite surfers hit the water, it’s actually pretty peaceful. The AC works well too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with Red Sea heat in summer.

Here’s the thing though – and this is where that 7.2 rating makes sense – the service can be hit or miss. Some days the front desk is super helpful, other days you’re waiting around for basic stuff. The WiFi is decent in the rooms but gets spotty in common areas. And while the location on Club Road puts you close to some good restaurants (there’s this little Egyptian place about a 10-minute walk that locals actually go to), you’re not exactly in the heart of El Gouna’s action. The marina is maybe a 15-minute walk, which isn’t bad, but it’s not like you can just pop down for a quick coffee. The pool area is nice enough – nothing fancy, but clean and usually not too crowded, especially if you go in the late afternoon when everyone else is either napping or out diving. What really sold me on the place was how quiet it gets at night. El Gouna can be surprisingly noisy with all the construction and tourist activity, but Club Road settles down after dinner time. If you’re someone who actually wants to sleep (revolutionary concept, I know), this matters. Plus, the apartment setup means you can spread out, do laundry, maybe even work if you need to – it feels less like a hotel stay and more like you’re actually living somewhere for a while.

  What could be improved: No toilet paper, no soap to wash hands or body, no air conditioning, no towels, the description says pool view and there’s no pool view. The pictures and description don’t match the actual apartment.
