Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to G-Cribs in El Gouna, I wasn’t expecting much from the Golden Apartments. The name sounds a bit fancy for what’s essentially a solid mid-range spot, but you know what? Sometimes those are exactly the places that surprise you. This particular one-bedroom unit overlooks the pool, and honestly, that view became my morning coffee ritual pretty quickly.

El Gouna itself is this interesting planned resort town about 25 minutes north of Hurghada – it’s got this sort of Venice-meets-Egypt vibe with all the lagoons and bridges. The apartment sits right in the thick of it, which means you’re walking distance to the marina area where all the restaurants are, but also… well, it can get a bit lively in the evenings. Not party-all-night loud, but you’ll definitely hear people having a good time around the pool area until maybe 10 or 11 PM. The bedroom faces away from most of the action though, so once you close that door, you’re fine.

What I actually loved about this place was how practical it felt. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s got everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the little supermarket near the Abu Tig Marina (about a 10-minute walk) and make your own breakfast. The air conditioning works well – and trust me, in summer you’ll need it – and there’s decent WiFi throughout. The pool view from the living area is genuinely nice, especially in the late afternoon when the light hits the water just right. I mean, it’s not the Red Sea, but after a day of diving or kiting, sometimes you just want to float in a regular pool and not worry about currents or coral cuts.

The whole G-Cribs complex feels well-maintained without being stuffy. There’s covered parking (which matters more than you’d think when it’s 40°C outside), and the front desk folks actually know the area well enough to give you decent restaurant recommendations. They steered me toward this little Egyptian place called Mokai that I never would’ve found otherwise. The 7.3 rating seems about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but everything works, it’s clean, and the location really does make El Gouna easy to explore. You can walk to the beach, the downtown area, even some of the other hotel pools if you’re feeling adventurous (though honestly, the one here is perfectly good).

If you’re coming to El Gouna for kitesurfing or diving – which, let’s face it, is probably why you’re here – this apartment gives you a comfortable base without the resort pricing. Just pack some mosquito spray for the evenings near the water, and maybe bring a good book for those afternoon hours when it’s too hot to do anything but hang by the pool.

  The place was very nice and comfy, the staff were very friendly and helped us with any information needed.
  
  What could be improved: There were some broken items in the place, like the drawer's knob and the tv remote control. But overall, it wasn't a big deal to me.

  I didn’t get my QR code until i sent millions of messages and calls!!! And didn’t get it properly.
  No one came at the check out time to receive the apartment key or check up on me!!

  Wifi disconnected the whole day before my leaving day.
