You know what struck me first about Grand Makadi? It’s actually got this perfect sweet spot thing going on – families with kids splashing around during the day, but it doesn’t turn into total chaos because they’ve managed to keep the party crowd away. I mean, being couples and families only really does make a difference in the vibe. The whole place sits right on this gorgeous stretch of Makadi Bay, and honestly, the Red Sea here is just ridiculous – that crystal clear turquoise that makes you wonder if they’re secretly filtering it somehow.

The location on Safaga Road means you’re about 25 minutes south of Hurghada’s main strip, which is actually perfect because you get away from all that tourist madness but you’re not completely isolated either. What I really appreciated was how they’ve designed the place to work for both crowds – there’s this sprawling pool area where kids can be kids, but then these quieter adult sections where couples can actually have a conversation. The rooms are solid (this is proper 5-star territory), though I’ll be honest, some of the bathrooms could use a refresh – nothing major, just showing a bit of age around the edges. But the balcony views? Chef’s kiss. Whether you’re facing the sea or the gardens, you’re winning.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place – the staff genuinely seem to get it. Check-in was smooth (they actually had our room ready early, which never happens), and throughout the week, little things just worked. The restaurant variety is impressive without being overwhelming, and they’ve nailed that tricky balance of international food that doesn’t taste like airport cafeteria fare. The snorkeling right off the beach is decent, though if you’re serious about diving, you’ll want to hop on one of the boat trips to the better reef spots. Parking’s no issue if you’ve rented a car, and the whole resort has this laid-back energy that makes you forget to check your phone for hours at a time. Sure, it gets busy during European holiday seasons (expect lots of German and British families), but even then, it never felt cramped. For the price point and that 8.2 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises – a proper Red Sea resort experience without the pretense or the spring break atmosphere.

  all was fantastic. A big thanks to Mr Karam from the reception who gave me a very nice room with terrace. All the staff was very nice and friendly. A big thanks also to the reception manager who allowed me to have a late check-out at 2 p.m. instead of 12 p.m. and to take a shower on a ground floor room before I left at 5.30 p.m. Food is good overall, I loved the Star Fish bar on the beach, the Caribbean restaurant and the French one. The animation was soft and in the evenings we had a place near the pool to assist to some shows and to dance. The coral reef is also very nice.

  The property is located in very nice place on the Red Sea with amazing clean see water, I enjoyed the scene of the coral reefs, fish as the blue water with very quite area. Relaxation under the sun was one of the enjoyable things that practice. The swimming pool is very big with clean water and the animation team always provide pool activities.
  The room are much better than my expectation, it wide with big bed and setting area and nice view terrace. The staff was very helpful and providing high level service. There is great variety of delicious food serviced by professional staff.
  
  What could be improved: The beach is rocky and no sand but Snorkling is amazing

  The property is very good and very clean, and the stuff is excellent and very friendly.
  
  What could be improved: The food was really bad especially the main restaurant, and the AC is very bad there.
  
  Also the drinks quality is really poor as they use poor quality beer and hard liquor.
  
  However; for the first time in my life i see an all inclusive hotel with many items not included ( including food and drinks)

  The rooms were good and the staff were very friendly and cooperative especially Mr. Fahd.
  The food in the buffet was normal but the other restaurants were perfect especially the Lebanese and the Italian restaurant.
