You know what really struck me about this penthouse at Mangroovy Residence? It’s one of those places that actually delivers on the whole “home away from home” thing without being cheesy about it. I mean, El Gouna isn’t your typical Egyptian resort town anyway – it’s got this almost Mediterranean vibe with all the lagoons and planned neighborhoods – but this particular spot just nails the balance between comfort and location. The three bedrooms are genuinely spacious (not those cramped “bedrooms” you sometimes get in vacation rentals), and honestly, waking up to both pool and Red Sea views never gets old. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters if you’re staying more than a few days and want to grab groceries from Abu Tig Marina instead of eating out every meal.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being right in the heart of things. Mangroovy Residence sits in this sweet spot where you’re walking distance to the marina area – maybe ten minutes if you’re strolling leisurely – but you’re not dealing with the late-night noise from the bars and restaurants. The pool area downstairs is pretty chill during the day, mostly families and couples, nothing too rowdy. And here’s something you won’t find in most hotel descriptions: the building’s elevator actually works consistently, which… well, if you’ve spent time in Egypt, you’ll appreciate that detail. The WiFi is solid throughout the apartment, even out on the balcony where you’ll probably end up spending most of your time anyway. That terrace space is really the star of the show – it’s big enough for morning coffee, afternoon reading, and evening drinks without feeling cramped.

The 9.1 rating makes sense when you consider that El Gouna itself is pretty well-managed compared to other Red Sea destinations. The whole town has this organized feel to it (it’s basically a planned community), so you get reliable utilities, clean streets, and everything’s walkable or a short tuk-tuk ride away. From the penthouse, you can easily hit the beach clubs, the golf course if that’s your thing, or just wander around the lagoons – though honestly, you might find yourself just staying put on that balcony with a book and a cold drink. The air conditioning works properly in all rooms, which is crucial during summer months, and there’s actually decent water pressure in the showers. Check-in was straightforward, and the property management seems to have their act together. It’s not luxury in the five-star resort sense, but it’s comfortable, well-located, and feels like a real place rather than a sterile hotel room. Perfect for couples or small families who want their own space but still want to be where things are happening.
