Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Hostgool SeaSide Chalets when I first pulled up to Mirage Bay – the name’s a bit of a mouthful, and you know how these combo resort-and-aqua-park places can go either way. But walking into those beachfront chalets, I actually got why people keep coming back here despite the 7.1 rating (which, let’s be real, isn’t spectacular but isn’t terrible either).

The thing about this place is it’s got character in a way that the big chain resorts in Hurghada just don’t. Your chalet sits right there facing the Red Sea, and I mean RIGHT there – you can literally hear the waves from your bed, which is either amazing or slightly annoying depending on how much you need dead silence to sleep. The aqua park side keeps things lively during the day (sometimes too lively if you’re trying to nap), but honestly, watching kids absolutely lose their minds on those water slides kind of makes you remember why vacations matter. The pools are decent, though they get pretty crowded between 11 and 3 when the sun’s really cranking.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the area – not just the rehearsed tourist stuff. The guy at reception told me which stretch of beach gets the best snorkeling in the morning before the day-trip boats show up, and he was spot-on. The beach itself is… well, it’s not the pristine white sand you see in the brochures, but it’s got that lived-in Red Sea vibe where you can actually find decent shells and the occasional piece of coral. Food’s pretty standard resort fare – nothing that’ll blow your mind, but the grilled fish is fresh and they do a solid job with the Middle Eastern dishes. Pro tip: the breakfast gets picked over fast, so don’t roll up at 9:30 expecting the good stuff to still be there.

Here’s the thing though – this place works if you know what you’re getting into. It’s not luxury (despite the 4-star rating), and some of the fixtures in the chalets have seen better days. The air conditioning works hard but not always quietly, and you’ll definitely hear your neighbors if they’re the type to slam doors. But there’s something genuine about staying here that I didn’t get at the flashier places down the coast. Maybe it’s because families actually vacation here instead of just influencers taking photos, or maybe it’s because you can walk to that little local market about ten minutes up the road where they sell the best dates I’ve ever tasted. The location puts you close enough to Hurghada’s main strip that you can grab a taxi for dinner elsewhere, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant noise and crowds. If you’re looking for a real Red Sea experience without breaking the bank – and you don’t need everything to be Instagram-perfect – this place delivers.

  The space is very clean and very well equipped. You don’t need to bring much other than yourself and your clothes. The host has everything else covered.

  What could be improved: I thought this was a hotel! Its not. I cannot recommend this place, if anything please save yourself and stay away. Bed sheets, pillows and blankets were dirty with stains. Tiles were missing in the shower. We were forced to pay the host $100USD otherwise he would not allow us to check in. Although we paid for breakfast, at check in we were told it was not included but we were given 'groceries' in the fridge but no tea coffee. That night, we had banging on our door at 11pm at night 3 times over half an hour. I felt unsafe and didn't open the door.
  At the pool, we couldn't sit on lounge chairs, use the pool, or the aqua park because we were asked by attendants were our wristbands we're. We never received any. When I asked the host about it he said no one else has complained. This is so scammy. Not as listed or advertised with pool or aqua pack access. Do Not Recommend!

  Das Zimmer ist sehr nah am Strand, wo wir viele Stunden geschnorchelt sind.
  Der Vermieter war super nett und zuvorkommend. Am Anfang mussten wir eine Kaution bezahlen, die wir bei Abreise zurück bekommen haben.
  Das Bett war sehr bequem, es gab viele Decken und sogar Memory Foam Kissen, mit denen wir es uns auf der Couch bequem gemacht haben. Es gab alles, was man braucht, ob Waschmaschine, Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Kochfeld, leise Klimaanlage, Fön, Handtücher usw. – Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

  房东非常热心和仔细，耐心地讲解各种东西的用法，也愿意听取房客的建议。临走的前一天还送了我们一个甜瓜，人很不错。房间里的用品基本都是全新的，房间不怎么大，但是住四个人还是可以的。房间离泳池和海滩都非常近。
