You know what? I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Magawish Villa 3 on that stretch of Ismailia Road, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But this little spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. The thing about Hurghada is that location matters more than star ratings sometimes, and this villa sits in a sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the crazy tourist madness that hits the main resort strip.

The villa itself has this laid-back, almost residential feel that I really appreciated – it’s not trying to be some massive resort with a thousand rooms. Instead, you get that more intimate vibe where the staff actually remembers your name by day two. The rooms are clean and comfortable (honestly, the AC worked better here than at some 5-star places I’ve stayed), and I loved that you could actually open the windows without traffic noise drowning out everything. Mornings are particularly nice – there’s something about the way the light hits the courtyard area that just feels peaceful. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which matters if you’re trying to stay connected or upload those Red Sea photos.

What really sets this place apart though is how the owners seem to get what travelers actually need. Parking was never an issue (trust me, that’s not always a given in Hurghada), and they’re genuinely helpful with organizing diving trips or desert excursions without the pushy sales pitch you get elsewhere. I mean, the Red Sea is literally why you’re here, right? They connected me with a dive operator who knew some incredible sites that weren’t completely overrun with tour boats. Plus, being on Ismailia Road means you can grab a taxi to the marina or old town without breaking the bank – it’s maybe a 10-minute ride to either. There’s also this little local restaurant about a five-minute walk away that serves incredible koshari (the owner recommended it), and honestly, it was better than anything I had at the fancy hotel restaurants. Check-in was smooth, no drama with early arrival, and they even stored my luggage on the last day so I could hit the beach one more time before my evening flight. It’s those small things that make a difference when you’re traveling.
